On a governmental poll, it has been shown that nearly 6/10 people think that we should remove the troops from Iraq. How can the governemtn still claim that this is what WE want and what WE need to do? He doesn't have our support.
Yes, it's too bad we don't live in a pure demoracy. But then again, that would be slightly overwhelming if it ever came to pass. People actually believe that the war will end by 2009? With all the recent insurgent attacks, how can anybody buy that for a second? It's not getting better, folks.
The majority of americans also believe in UFOs, ghosts, and the infallibility of social security. Need I say more? And who ever accused the government of doing the "will of the people?" By the way, I also think we've worn out our welcome in Iraq. As far as I'm concerned, those ingrates can have saddam back. I'm just sick of hearing about more american casualties every day. I guess saddam was the only guy who could keep that s*it hole in line. Live and learn I guess. Next stop-Iran. And then, if we can get that done soon enough, Syria.
it'd probably be better if all those murderers are slaughtered while they're over in iraq, that way they cant invade any other innocent countries.
Oh they have so much to be grateful for when we've bombed their cities to rubble, killed tens of thousands of their loved ones and continue to routinely brutalise them with all the disregard for any accountability to international law that was used as a pretext to invade and oust Saddam himself. They neither asked for our invasion nor welcomed it, contrary to every ideologically inspired claim presented by this cabal of war criminals from the very start. Perhaps some foreign power should firebomb your town or send patrols to kick in your door in the dark of night, terrorise your family and drag you away to indefinite detention without due process of law because they got some anonymous tip that you were a "terrorist". Then perhaps you'd appreciate why indigenous Iraqis (not bogus foreign fighters, nor fabricated boogeymen like Al Zaqawri) are increasingly fighting against our illegal occupation and the puppet government of corporate cronies that it props up.
are you going to volunteer and fight on the front lines, or do you want to spread your beliefs in the name of god without actually doing a damn thing? i hope you go... i'll spit on your casket when you come back.
I've already done my time, under president Clinton. What about you? By the way. Obviously you missed the point of my entire post. It was actually AGAINST the war...
Only against it because you think these people who are fighting against an illegal occupation of their country are un-grateful.
Who is this "they" you keep speaking of? Iraqi's were constantly looking to overthrow saddam, either by themselves or with help. The US, under Bush I bailed out on them once, and thousands of Iraqis were left holding the bag? Do you forget that the UN in numerous resolutions authorized the use of force to make saddam comply with the resolutions, that the break in fighting was "cease fire" contingent upon the fulfillment of certain requirements. That St. John Kerry authorized the use of force in Iraq. The fall of Baghdad? Remember that? And I'm against the war myself. But as far as I'm concerned, if life is so horrible now, just let saddam loose and let him pick up where he left off...
So tell me, the use of this war against Saddam (who had WMD - BULLSHIT) with the "ties" to terrorist organizations is justified? Someone FOR GODS SAKE, please show me the fucking ties.
Look up the definition of "facetious" in the dictionary. Since you insist on trying to be adversarial, I will explain it too you. As far as the US is concerned, they will want to go into Iran. They are already making the case now. And the same goes for Syria. They have been laying the groundwork. See, I am not saying that's where the US SHOULD go. I'm saying, based on what I've seen, that's where they WILL GO. God, you need to lighten up a little bit. I mean jesus, you take yourself SO SERIOUSLY. You must be an absolute JOY to be around. And I am against the war because as far as I'm concerned, there is no reason to be there at this point. We should not involve ourselves in foreign, internal affairs, no matter how horrible they may be. If people want freedom, they should fight for it themselves. It is neither our right nor our obligation to do so for them. Period. And all of saddam's weapons are now in syria, so Iraq is not an international threat.
I think it's pretty clear saddam had few, if any, ties to terrorists, particularly al-qaeda. All he really did was give money to palestinian suicide bombers. Hardly a reason to invade the country. Al-qaeda hated saddam as much as bush did. And the weapons saddam had were moved to syria prior to the war. Not that he would have used them against anyone but his own people.
The occupation is legal. It is authorised by both UN resolutions and the democratically elected, sovereign government of Iraq. I can understand why it is fun to say it is illegal, but unfortunately it isn't true.
You know what, I really give up. If you guys really think the killing of innocent people is ok, fine by me. Enjoy the NWO.
