My callsign is "feathers" and I was introduced to this forum by a friend who recently joined. First impressions of this place are good. You seem to have a broad mix of age ranges and both male and female postees. I'm a male mostly but I really dislike male dominated forums. I have previously been called a feminist by males on another forum because of my pro-female views. It seems that some males regard the word "feminist" as some kind of negative slur. You might say I'm a logically minded person. I will use logical arguments to illustrate my points. I am easily irritated by people who make illogical statements about something as if they were fact. Take the following example: "I don't believe in that particular conspiracy because I don't believe people could be so evil. I think it's very very unlikely" This is the kind of statement that annoys me because it implies that something is improbable based entirely on that person's inability to conceive of said thing. When someone makes such a statement then it is clear that they have already reached a verdict. The statement is also worded in such a way as to imply that reality/events are shaped around what that person can conceive. I will use logical arguments to challenge such statements. I don't subscribe to any pack-mentality of criticising/picking fights with people because my peers are doing so (or to elevate my status before my peers). If I feel something is wrong then I will go to great length to explain why I believe it to be so. I'm a 41 YO male who runs his own business (virtual reality and extreme-cooling devices for computers). I live in england. I'd sooner live in Holland or Australia. I like many different styles of music. Mostly vocal rather than instrumental these days. I play computer games in my spare time. Mostly Counterstrike Source online with other dysfunctional men and women. I will probably purchase Battlefield 2 when it's released this month. Thanks Wonder Girl. I've spent the past few years posting on a male dominated forum to the point where I got sick and tired of the stereotypical views. I already like the more evenly balanced hipforums.
