Hello everyone, I very much hate his to be my first post here but it's an important issue. My name is Michael Beberman and I am one of the operators of Mother Gecko Botanicals the people responible for the new banner ad your seeing here on hipforums now. By the title of the thread you are getting the jist already, our personal freedoms are once again being taken out from underneath us. Salvia divinorum sales have been banned in the state of New York and it is sure to spread in time to other states, then possibly and most probably, it will become a federal law. This saddens me as this particular plant teacher has extrodinary powers as many of you know, and what saddens me is that those of you that have not experienced it, may never be able to. I am encouraging you all to write, email, call, or even smoke signal senator John J. Flanagan and tell him what you think about this. I will leave all the info at the bottom of this post. Please make sure to conduct your self professionally in your method of communication as the surest way to not to be heard, is to lose your cool. Thanks MGB Flanagans contact info John J. The power of LSD is far more extraordinary, and no one listened then. The empathogenic qualities of MDMA proved to be useful to therapists across the country, so they make it a schedule 1 drug... Nothing you do is going to stop them.
I realy didn't "enjoy" any of our salvia near as much as grass, I don't think its a fun drug, more like one of those spiritual drugs, so hopefully it won't become popular enough for federal gov't to ban it. Thats realy all we can hope for.
Thank you Mother Gecko! I will be giving him a ring or three tomorrow, on account of my inebriation tonight (Woohoo! Musikfest!).
"The power of LSD is far more extraordinary," ha ha, what do you mean by the power? How it "opens your mind"? Or its actual power on the way it changes the appearance of reality? And that's horrible news, not unexpected, but still horrible nonetheless. I just finished the last of my Salvia batch, so I should probably get some plants soon
Goddamn what a bummer. I'm not advocating anything, but it sure would be a hoot if somebody spiked the punch at a DEA convention with acid.
Earlier today, as I was doing lawn work, it occurred to me that if Salvia Divinorum were to be banned, we probably wouldn't see much of a black market for it. Doesn't seem to me that the nature of the experience lends itself to widespread popularity. All the more reason to use responsibly and ensure that it doesn't become banned. Anyone else have any thoughts on this?
Really? I guess people will do anything to get their "high." Surprises me, though, I've never seen it viewed as very recreational.
well exactly, the same goes with any psychoactive...the whole reason alot of drugs are illegal is because alot of people dont use them responsibly and end up hurting themselves or others...i've seen a couple of people walk into hemp stores around here and buy a bag of salvia thinking its just going to be a weak cannabis alternative...well, some people are idiots, you cant change that...it just makes me sad to see that salvia, which has many beneficial spiritual and positive effects is going to get banned because a few jack offs didnt know what they were getting into... bahhhhhhh end rant
Well, as for opening a topic of discussion, I was thinking mainly about the black market/demand thing. I'm really curious as to what some people would predict should it become illegal. But well put, nonetheless.
well i've noticed salvia has increased in popularity in the last little while...but it seems alot of people try it once and say "im never going near that salvia shit again", either because they do it in the wrong atmosphere, or just that the effects are too intense for them...because of this i doubt there will be much black market demand, i'm sure it will be out there, but it wont be as widely sold as say cannabis or LSD
Who the hell smokes salvia at raves? I haven't had a ton of experience with it, but I never thought of it as anything close to a party drug. Figured they'd outlaw it sooner or later, you're not allowed to decide what you put in your bodies. Go freedom!
