Just my thoughts here, but........ To me swearing feels wrong, I mean I dont goto church or follow any certain religion but to me it feels wrong and un-nessasary. Like I hear kids today, my own age walking around with there hats to the side swearing about every second word. Well also it brings down my high as well, lol, but its just not nice and not peaceful at all. Just thought I would see if anyone else in this lovely world feels the same?
uh huh... what does this have to do with weed? And anyway, it can be annoying when it gets excessive, but it's really none of my business what anyone else says.
oh yeah crap, wrong forum sorry, haah sorry still cant get used to looking at a computer screen and using a mouse and everything. peace
They are the most expressive words; think of what you can do with just the word "fuck". It's a noun, verb, adjective, etc. Use it in a variety of ways for greater emphasis, even in the middle of a word: "abso-fuckin-lutely" Yeah, I swear quite a bit, they are useful words.
I attempted to watch "Deadwood" on satelite the other nite. I cuss like a sailor, but felt offended at the prevelance of the "fuck" word in that show.
No, who came up with difference between shit and crap. Or dang and damn, there is only one letter difference there. Swear words being any different from words like that is just fucking insane.
i've had a the mouth of a sailor my whole damn life... i've tried to tone down my swearing a bit... but it just dont seem to happen... oh well.. fuck it
I don't see why everyone makes a big deal out of swearing, there just very expressive words. Swearing every other word is kinda pointless, but throwing a "fuck" or a "shit" here and there isn't such a big deal.
"Swear" words are just words. Though using them excessively has no point. A well planted "swear" word in an argument or speech or just plain ol' chit chat can have amazing results. My advanced composition professor was telling us how she used a "swear" word while having a conversation with the President of the Univerisity about contracts. The word was well within the context of her side of the argument and it left a positive impression. ...I see nothing wrong with using them. I wrote a paper about me growing up. The paper had the occasional "swear" word in it, but thats what made the paper what it was: a very good paper with a strong point. The strong points were molded around when I planted a "swear" word.
yeah you make very good arguments about it, I was just wondering what you's thought, if I hear the ocassional swear word it dosnt bother me only when little punk kids that wear there hat to the side and have a smoke in the mouth just to look cool, and swear everyword that really tickles my insides but beside for that I'm cool with it, and yes it makes a conversation more powerful if that word is included halfway through it. Oh well just another thought
I have no issue with swearing at all. I was raised by two sailors who never censored they way they speak. I swear very often, it's just who I am.
what are curse words? really theyre just the ego's attempt at an exclamation mark. an exclamation of intensity of your ego, that you want to make an impact. An ego will wish to do this in order to try and rise its status. a lot of things in animal nature is status, and this is just one of many status tools one uses. to swear has a lot of cultural significance and all of the rammifications of swearing in certain social circumstances. swearing is like inferring 'im at a level that is equal or greater* to yours'.*depending on the use of the swear word. but im not sure if the feelings of guilt one may get from swearing is instinct or learned through culture. at any rate it has to do largely with psychological status control, swearing does.
HA! Isn't it great swearing while baked? I always pretend im a rapper and have a conversation with a friend just bagging the shit out of each other. Ah, good times
i have no problem with swearing. I never tend to, just to be respectful. If others swear, i dont mind. If im baked and people say fuck every other word, that is pretty hilarious
Personally I hardly ever sware but when I do my friends and colleges know I’m serious, there like, he swore and shit there just words used to emphasize or a point, the less you use them the more they mean.
