go see a doc? might me some inflamation or a fungus. fungi appear due to lack of the vagina's natural sour atmosphere. this can happen when the weather is really hot and you're sweatting a lot or washed yourself too much down there things like that.
I have read once, that simple inflamations can be cured by putting yoghurt on a tampon and in there, since the bacteria that makes up yoghurt is the same one that creates the acid on the vagina. But please don't blame me if it doesn't work. If it lasts more days you definately should ask a doc for help.

The bacteria in question is Acidophilus - you can buy this in various forms in health food stores.

Don't put yogurt literally inside your vagina. The yeast works when it is INGESTED.

It sounds like a yeast infection. Yes, you CAN put the plain yogurt directly into your vagina. It has to be the plain yogurt (unsweetened) the sugar could worsen the problem. But, go see your gyno to make sure that it isn't something more serious. She can look at the discharge under a microscope and tell if it is a yeast infection or not. If it is, she can give you a prescription for a pill to take.

    I dunno about that...

I just got out of my STI and HIV class yesterday, after an hour of the Board of Directors for Health spent making fun of an article that was passed out years ago in the newspaper by some college women, spreading the word on placing yeast in their vaginas... Needless to say, they ended up back into the health center. She explained that the active yeast in yogart does not work topographically.

sounds like the yeasty beasties to me! Yuck, I'm sorry, I really hate yeast infections. I would suggest calling your doctor and asking her to call in a Diflucan to your pharmacy. It's one pill and it starts to clear things up in 24 hours. I live for those things whenever I get one. There are also many over the counter cremes and you can figure out which one works for you.

I had always thought you could, but when I spoke up, and stated that I had heard the same things as in that article, she just laughed.

She could just be quite wrong...
Anywho, that seemed like a very credible article,...maybe i'll forward it to her.

i asked my mom and she said we didnt have to go the doctor (shes been a nurse for 30 years and has two daughters i hope she knows what shes talking about!) she gave me some monistat cream and it takes away all the itch, this morning there wasn't a spot of discharge (not even the normal one) but im pretty sure it was a yeast infection cause the discharge was like wahtever its supposed to be.. cottage cheesy it kinda burns now but hopefully it's clearing up! oh and how often do you get them?

Some women are prone to getting them often, while others aren't. I've only had one. I would eat yogurt regularly to keep the bacteria levels normal. But, that wouldn't keep you from ever getting one.
