    ^^Sorry about that...

But I found out my girlfriend doesn't like Bob Dylan

But the good thing is she's only heard 1 song by him, so hopefully there's still a chance! Request songs that I should play for her to start with...I have the entire essentials and my pops has the entire collection so I can get any song hah

I don't really like his stuff either.

Obviously I have a great deal of respect and admiration for the guy, but that doesn't mean I like to listen to his body of work..

Different strokes and all that jazz.

I assume the song she heard was "Like a Rolling Stone". Try playing the rest of that album. Lay Lady Lay and Mr. Tambourine Man might be good songs to start with too.

meh... I would just cut to the chase and break it off. Joking, kinda.

It's okay if she doesn't like Dylan, just make sure the stuff she DOES like is good. If you don't you might find yourself having to sit through Celine Dion concerts or something just as rotten.

I dated a guy for 4 years. One day I found myself at a rap concert that we drove 10 hours to get to. It was a deal breaker.

Just show her all the classics. Maybe she heard one of his old folkie songs or maybe she heard something by him from the 80s(eek). If it was either one, show her the folkie stuff(like freewheelin' bob dylan) and his folk/rock/blues stuff(highway 61 revisited, bringing it all back home)

I actually think Bob Dylan has one of the best and most unique (even though my english teachers tell me something cant be most or more unique) voices ever. Its different but it really helps emphasize what he is trying to say. I would say have her listen to Blonde on Blonde. Its his most polished out of his three great electric 60s albums (Bringin it all Back Home Highway 61, and Blonde on Blonde). Also have her check out freewheelin or the times they are a-changin or another side of dylan if she likes acoustic. And definatly have her check out blood on the tracks, i dont think there is any girl who could not like that album.

Well she explained to me, when we heard it in my friend's car, it's not that she didn't like Dylan...it's just that she wasn't like, "DUDE TURN IT UP!" She has a good taste in music, but she just doesn't like Dylan all that much...wow I just realized that was a lyric from Hurricane "He didn't like to talk about it all that much. It's my work he'd say, I do it for pay, and hwne it's over, just as soon go on my way." Too bad Dylan didn't actually write that song himself...

But yeah, she's into everything but rap really...techno, Bjork (whatever the hell category she is haha), Reggae, Ska, everything...so I can live ;)

(Note:I completely forgot about this topic...sorry for the delayed response haha)
