Hip forums = hip hop, no? j/k. I was just curious to know if any of you like hip hop as much as I do. I like to dance.
well, I don't..you can laught about it but I only listen to some italian rap/hip-hop..don't like much r&b either, I was in england and germany and in all the the clubs I went to to you could listen just to that music..
I listen to tons of underground/indie label stuff. there is very little i enjoy more than a dope beat.
I ain't into that gansta rap bitch ho yo piece shit. However, artists like DJ Shadow, DJ Honda, Dj Krush, a tribe called quest etc and stuff from the NINJA TUNES label are fantastic and intelligent.
Helllllllll yeh! And I like hip hop, but 'real' hip hop, meaning no MTV commercialized shit. I'm into the hip hop culture, so graffiti, MCing, turntablism, breakdancing. I perfer instrumental hiphop, as nay mentioned, artists like DJ Shadow, Honda, Krush, amongst others like Herbalizer and DJ Cam.
the only hip-hop album i have (besides a beck album, if you count him...hell, i would count beck), would be dj shadows "Endtroducing...", that album is really surreal. Never thought instrumental hiphop could work until i heard that
Can I just point out that Hip-hop and RnB are COMPLETELY different? They're as different as Trance and Techno, or House and Drum'n'Bass, Swing and Bebop, etc. Just because they both do (or just as often don't) have rapping in them doesn't mean they can be blanketed under the same umbrella. Hip-hop was a natural progression from Fusion Jazz - you can still hear it in the rhythms and the chord progressions (provided it's proper hip-hop and not this crunk scheidt which is just a minimalist loop with some really bad rapping over the top and maybe a sample of Stevie Wonder or J.S. Bach). RnB is just Bel Canto singing over Minimalist scheidt - which is unfortunately where the link lies between Hip-hop and RnB. Also RnB and Rhythm'n'Blues are even MORE different. Just thought I'd point that out.
Can I also point out (and I'm sure someone will complain about this or tell me that I'm wrong) that modern RnB doesn't seem to me to be anything like RnB at all. It's meant to be rhythm and blues, but it now seems to mean any form of crappy pop music by someone who's black.
R&B = Rap & Bullshit - Wu-tang Clan not to brag but from what i've seen on this forum, i would have to say i'm the biggest head here, everyone else seems to just complain, and not understand hiphop at all.
Yeh. The nice thing about his productions is practically all of it is built off samples. He's a king at digging.
hey, at least your honest, i respect that way more than somone who would try to post it with no backup
