Ok, i have a 250w metal hallide for veg stage....how many 1 gallon pots will this cover? we tried 3 last time but they all turned out to be males Can I get any more under there without stressing them? heat and humidity is a problem in the summer too...anything we can do about that? also, we have a couple fans but what about the odor? do those ionizers work or should we get something else?
A 9 sq ft area(3' x 3') is what your 250 will cover for veg while providing 27.7 watts per sq ft which is more then ample for plants to thrive on while in veg, flower requires 50 per ft,so whatever you can fit comfortably without crampnig the vegitation.Dehumidifiers work well for high humidity, dont worry unless over 60%.I dont know if your in a closet or what but halides put out alot of heat and oscillating fans wont do it.You need a intake and exhaust fan to bring in fresh air and remove hot.Intakes are placed low and exhaust high.Keeping temps down lowers humidity as well.Without know the sized area you are setting up in I cannot recommend fan size but get centrifigal fans, they last and are designed for continuos use,Elicent is a great brand.Good luck
PHP: I have a 250wt metal halide agrosun light and 2 10in circular fans 1 on top of the light reflector and 1 blowing air on the plants, recently I went to check my garden and there was mold spot all over the ceiling of the grow room and a little bit of clothes I had folded up in the top of the closet. I also in the past felt like the room was too hot but never thought it was enough to effect the growroom, there was always water trickling from the wall and very moist, I've also noticed I have been flowering for 3and 4 weeksand thers no signs of sex or bud production, can this be a humidity problem and can my plants be saved I've noticed a few of the leaves have wilted so all damaged leaves I cut off,the rest of the plants looked fine I also cleaned the room of mold with bleach and water (mixed) then placed plants back in. If this problem persists can I buy a dehumidifier to solve the problem and do I have to do anything special to the flowers to make sure they were'nt effected by the mold infestation. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!! I'M A FIRST TIMER. BUCK FUSH!!!
How is it that ya just noticed you have been in flower for 3 or 4 weeks. You determine that with your light schedule.Oscillating fans only move existing air around and dont do anything for the exchange of.Read the post I made in this thread previously to solve your prob.Get a book on indoor horticulture to obtain the knowlege needed to be successful in the future.
The rule of thumb is 50 watts HPS/6,000+ lumens per sq/ft. A 250 HID will effectively light a space slightly bigger than 2' x 2'. Another rule of thumb is no more than 1 plant per sq/ft. (sog style). I'd prob. put 3 in there and hope for a female, tossing the males when they express sex. Line the walls with mylar or paint the walls flat white to maximize light. Having 3 plants and having them all turn out to be males may have just been luck of the draw, or it might have been due to stress. Use quality potting soil and full-spectrum nute's, provide plenty of ventilation and correct temps (80F during lights on, 70F during light off is ideal). Rocky, if you have mold and water running down the walls you need a new grow space; you'll never grow anything in conditions like that. Take meangreen's advice. Read a book on indoor gardening. Many grow books are on-line, free. Do a search.
its water from the humidity not a leak or anything, but Ireally want to know if i can grow my p[ants and yes im going by the general hydroponics weekly squedule! PEACE!!! SAY NO TO THE WAR!!!
I know it's the humidity. If your grow room is THAT humid, that's not a growroom that's a sauna. Why is it so humid? What have you got in there, Louisiana?
My plants still look good, except for the bubblegum, it's not bad but I had to cut of several leaves because of browning, drying and deformed curling leaves
My plants still look good, except for the bubblegum, it's not bad but I had to cut off several leaves because of browning, drying and deformed curling leaves. The ak47 is going well dispite the mold and humidity problems. Even though I been flowering for a while without results of sex.
I noticed since I joined this forum I ain.t recieved no bad advice and hope to become as good as you guys Thanks Alot!!! I OFFER YOU THE STICKIEST OF THE ICKY!!!
