Well, since I quit my job the other day (yeah!!!), I have been able to finish some things I've been working on. Just a simple draw string skirt. This one is my fave. It is a crazy sleeved top. I found this old pattern at a yard sale. It is really loose and comfy. I think it might have worked better with a more light weight fabric, but too late now!
Thanks, all! I don't know about modeling the top, I'm not too good at taking photos of myself. But, maybe I will try, after all, I don't have to go to work tomorrow!
Jess, YAY!! I finally get to see your work!!! Very nice! I'm glad you got some time to sew. Did my gift help?
Lena--Your gift was wonderful! I'm not sure it helped me sew, though! Anyway, here are a couple of other things I finished. A top for Meleah. I have a top made from those two fabrics as well. She also helped me make a little outfit for her doll from the scraps. Look alike skirts for mom and daughter!
Oh, Oh, Oh, can you post a brief tutorial on how to make that top. We used to make tops like that in the 60's. I'd love to make them again. I'm not putting this big body in an apron, but I could wear one of those. Kathi
LOL That is what I think, too. I always like apron tops on other folks, but find myself a bit too, uh ample, to wear them. Let me see what I can make up as a tutorial. I will keep you posted!
It looks like the front and back are gathered onto the lace. Then the rectangular sleeves are only attached at the corners of the lace in the front and back. Is this close? If it is than only approximate measurements of the sleeves would be needed. I would imagine the measurement around would be just a bit more than the fullest part of your breasts. Let me know if this is anywhere close to correct. Kathi
