you've got to be kidding me.... You really can't relate to stuff like this if you're a pretty boy that never does stuff like that.
I can relate to this - getting drunk or stoned is a stupid idea, so I do neither. But if I was gonna do something like that, I'd want backup, it's common sense.
Lakshen: OK, listen to me very carefully. Whether I'm a drug addict or not, I can still comment on the inherent lack of common sense involved in getting wasted beyond knowing what you're doing, with people doing the same, and then following a guy you don't know and have hardly met into the woods.
Who says anyone's an addict??? Besides what you just said proves my point 'yes, you can comment but I said relate and you can't...' that whole thing with the guy, you don't think like that all the time. If you have to suspect everyone all the time you never get to live... you're just an other 'stiff' that likes to critisize other people for having a life imho
I think a can of mace will do the trick A blade is more for people trained to handle it, trust me disarming is a trick even a baby can learn... Took me one lesson to learn and one more to 'perfect' (and that included guns and blades)
Learning a martial art can be effective as well, then you don't need weapons in many cases (though obviously if a guy's got a gun pointed at you from across the room, there's not much you can do anyway). I've been doing Karate for years, never had to use it, but now it's become more a form of recreation and fitness than anything else. I started 'cause I used to work construction and some of the guys I worked with were real pricks, and I didn't wanna be pushed around. I never had to use it, though, I guess the confidence I projected was enough, it makes it easier to stand up for yourself when know you got the power to kick ass if you need it.
Thats is a bit more hard, but the trick is to avoid the pistols movement, make a distraction and move fast... reallly fast. To do it you've gotta be ready to bet your life that the guy will hesitate, and if there any chance the guy will move closer then wait... But the best bet is just to get the fuck out of the way...
i've had something sort of similar happen to me... in a kind of roundabout way i guess. anyway, it's really terrible that it happened, but i hope you did learn not to trust everybody you meet at a party, especially when you're not in the best mindset to make such decisions about ppl. know what i mean? Just Be Careful. You're lucky nothing worse happened... :/ it's a shame to feel you have to be wary of new ppl, but you really do have to be. especially at night, in the middle of the woods, with no sober ppl around.
As my gods will have infested hatred in me, if I ever saw a rape going on I would beat the rapeist beyond recognition...
Lakshen - I will second this. PS 1991 I was in school in Montreal and in the news apparently a woman was being raped in a car (open car door, visible to the street) and apparently most passersby honked at them and yelled things like "yeah! get her!"
You can do it if you put your faith in his hesitation... A diversion and some quick moves it what it takes. But I too would prefer not to try if there was any way to aviod it. If he did shoot me tho and not in the head or heat (in both cases you have to be lucky and good to hit) I would snap his neck... But people don't carry guns where I am from... Only melee
_Back on topic. It's terrible that something like this happened but in a way is a good wake up call for all of us that tend to be, perhaps, a bit too trusting with strangers -good thing you were able to get away-; just because someone is at the same party doesn't mean they can't/wouldn't harm us if they have/had the chance. There are a lot of lunatics out there & it's always better to keep one's guard up.
Same here... And if I ever found out who did it, a few more people would never see the morning sun again
