this got deleted when i was almost done.... i got a pm back from jesusdiedforyou... and i tried to talk to him nicely... it took me the greater of 5 minutes.. i got the same thing back...

i told him, as im saying here now, i love and respect jesus, however, i do NOT love and respect the church. he didnt like that. didnt agree with my reasoning at all.

but.... let me ask... if the church is really in it for love LOVE LOVE LOVE (isnt that what christ is for?!??!?), then why... do the big churches have million dollar stained-glass windows?????? why do people dress up like it's a fucking fashion show???

come on now...jesus wouldnt have liked that..

How bout this you believe that im just another brainwashed zealot from church. However, church is not what gets you to heaven....Jesus is... I dont go to church every week... It believe it helps a person learn more god and helps a person to get closer to go. The church that I attend... http://www.parkviewchurch.com/ does even have a "dress code" ... I wear what i usually wear anywhere else. The point is having a personal relationship with God is what is important... not what you wear at church

 

i think most of it is for attraction....maybe if the building is pretty, more people will come in and learn more? but i do agree that church these days does seem more like a fashion show....and for that i'm not sure why you have to dress up in a dress or suit...why not just go in jeans and a t-shirt.....i did but my dad always forced me to wear nice clothes....i hated it and even after i was allowed to do what i wanted they still made comments about my attire....i just dont get it, when jesus taught his disciples and the rest of the world he wore merely a cloak or something like that and some sandals.

 

well, that's good. i dont go to church anymore. but the reason meaning of church is...."where ever two are more are gathered...i will hear"

i have my own church and i keep it free of toxins.

 

but i think his point was that alot of churches seem to make it a point that you should dress a certain way and it's not really a big deal.

 

Rite... you no its not a big deal.... A person is not saved by wearing nice clothes... and it is not a big deal... It people at church condem you for not wearing good clothes.... just remember not everyone that says they are a chirstian is a christian... who cares what they think.... Care what Jesus thinks...

well yeah but if the people of the church are a hindrance to your spirit in worship b/c of how you dress..then how can those that are hindered be expected to stay at that church? ya know.
