Why More Kids Smoke Marijuana Than Cigarettes By Steve Fox, AlterNet. Posted June 16, 2004. If the idea is to stop teen substance use, the approach we've used with tobacco works better than the approach we've taken with marijuana: regulation of adult use rather than prohibition. The rest of the article is here...I didn't know how easy it would be to read if I pasted it. http://www.alternet.org/drugreporter/18959/
That's a cool article! MPP is a good org. dedicated to delving into the facts. It is the information age,, and the Gov. cannot hide the facts anymore, too many people control their own media through computers, and the people who smoke are becoming more numerous. If everyone votes like they should- we can change these outdated prohibition laws soon.
That's a really interesting article..and they need to legalize marijuana! I didn't know about the vote for it in November of last year.. I read about it on here in another topic, but someone said that "the amount they wanted to legalize was too little" but it would still help A LOT. The cops would probably become more leniant like they are in Canada.
the thing is, if they "carded" when you bought marijuana, youngsters would just resort to what theyve been doing all these years -- black market
But we would hardly be wasting as much money as we are today prosecuting everyone for it....it would just be these kids...it would save everyone time and money and our prisons would be less crowded...
who the hell gets black market alchohol or cigarettes? we teenagers either try to buy from shops, or get someone else to buy if for us. there is no balc market for things like lachohol and cigarettes, none whatsoever. the only black market is that of illegal substances - marijuana for example. the whole point is to get rid of the black market.
