Wheather you go barefoot, walk around nude, or don't shower, they are all an expression of being in tune with nature and going back to your primeaeval roots. Obviosely you dont have to do these to be in touch with nature, but it helps from my experiance: being able to feel the earth benieth your feet (and the wind around your neathers, as the case may be) is something that really enforces a connection with the land that has almost been completely lost in this modern world. A round of applause to all of you who keep the connection with nature strong, you deserve it.
i think everyone should go naked. even if its just your feet that are naked at least its something. and everyone should go skinny dipping. not so much like in the dead of the night when u r pissed with a group of mates. but go to the beach and be freeeeeeeee its the best
It's not the same to me. I go barefoot and it has nothing to do with nature whatsoever. It's just what's comfortable to me. I hardly spend any time in the countryside, never mind woodlands or any other places which conjour up images of nature. At best I'm at one with my city, but really I'm just barefoot because I can't stand wearing shoes. There are a lot of people who think they're nudists but wear shoes - they're separating themselves from the ground with that, and they're also denying themselves the health benefits etc. But this is the one thing they have in common with me. They're not in it for the nature either - they just like being naked.
I like being barefoot and nude or partially nude because I hate wearing clothes and shoes all of the time. I hate being restricted...but I also love the feeling of grass, sand, cold store floor's,sidewalk, etc against my feet and skin. It's all good..and I can understand how it makes people feel more at one with nature. I have had those feelings myself, many times. But...why is not washing being in touch with nature? I'm not knocking your thoughts on the subject,I'm just curious as to how you feel about it. Showering isn't exactly earthy, but I love the feel of the water against my skin. To me,water can feel like purification...sometimes after I wash,I feel totally revived physically and mentally. Not to mention, washing outdoors is wonderful. That's just me though
There is a active nudist colony w/in 20 miles of my house. I've been a member for about 37yrs. now. My parents are nudists so when in rome..... Being nude is great, I hate having to get dressed just to leave the house!!!
It's like what summer camp :sunglasse is for kids, we do all the same stuff, like boating, fishing, volleyball, etc. But we do it in the nude... ahhh no shoes either!!! But if your smart you wear sunscreen, especially for your delicate areas!!! Peace!!
I would have to wear sunscreen..I don't tan very easily,I burn instead usually...definitely don't want that on my "delicate areas" Sounds fun though
well, when i was 22 I forgot to put sunscreen on my boobs and let me tell ya, I had some serious sunburn. When I went to work that following wk. I couldn't wear a bra. I worked in the corporate field and I wore sleeveless t-shirts, blouses. and a suit jacket all of that wk. It was the summer of '88 and it was painful and hot. So moral of story wear the sunblock!!!
Makes you wonder what people did before sunscrean, i mean they couldn't have just burned and bared it, could they.
Two options... covering up -for a good part of our history, people were supposed to cover up all the way, including hats. Part of the reason was that doing so was 'proper' but I'm sure it helped against sun burn too Second, if you're out in the sun every day, all year round, you don't burn as easily. I don't recommend it for it's definitely not good for your skin, but you'll get the sorta thick, very wrinkled and tanned skin you often see on old folks in third world countries.
I'm going to a naturist resort in about a week, for a few days (not many people call them "camps" or "colonies" any more). I haven't been before, but looking at their website, it's camping, a pool, a sauna and hot tub, a bar, games, relax in the sun. All the things you might do at a health club or campsite, but naked. Butt naked. And there's a nice nude beach nearby. I also go naked, at home, on the beach, in the garden, in front of my friends and neighbours (those who aren't offended anyway), and it's nothing to do with getting back to nature. I just like to be naked when it's warm. I think the comment about "think they're nudists but wear shoes", kinda suggests that there's some sort of central nudist ethos you have to subscribe to. There's not. Nudists are people who like to take their clothes off, and it's not sexual. That's it.
okay, I got some info for those who want to know about nudist colonies in Pa. there are "3". #1-Sunnyrest Lodge in Palmerton Pa. contact is www.sunnyrestlodge.com for more info. #2-Westpenn Naturist in Pittsburgh Pa. contact www.westpennnaturist.com for more info. #3 -Pennsylvan Healthsociety Inc. in Mohnton Pa. contact is www.pennsylvan.net. I hope this helps for those wanting the natural style.
Thanks for posting this It's nice to know when there are people who appreciate the freedom of "baring it"... Im a barefooter, and my boyfriend finds it "gross" He thinks my tough soles, and what not is disgusting. Oh well. Also ... Here's something to stew upon. I was thinking the other day... why is it so important that in some stores you must be wearing shoes? If its for health reasons it doesnt make sense... Your shoes are just as dirty as your feet. And its rare that you contract a disease through your feet, lol.. Unless you're like two and you bite your own toe nails. Anyway, I love going barefoot, I find it liberating and comforting to be in touch with the earth.. My feet are their own little shoes, the soles are so tough that I dont even have the need for shoes anymore... I dont shower often either, I feel like it takes away your natural scent and what not.
Your tough soles disgusting? Not at all! In fact, I think that a pretty girl with tough, rough soles is so sexy! It's great that you don't need shoes anymore...please tell us more about your feet and your tough soles...post pics! Regards DG
