Nice one there, Lady... I like the tone you take, and respect the point of view you present here (even though I don't totally agree with ya! ;) ) While some of the rhyming is a bit forced; I could easily see this one going off quite well as a reading... Thanks for posting!

I thought it was so appropriate to post here, being hip forums n' such!
And I knew many people would feel the same way.

I'm stating that I hate the way people are today, clotheswise, belief wise, society wise, everything...I'm promoting the 60s and 70s because I love them, and I'm living them now, but its hard when everyeone else is so simple and ugh...

you must be a very fucking hateful person then man. to hate people because of the way they dress and what they believe....man that's facism. cant you see that's so frickin closed minded? and as for society. dude! society hasnt changed. were living capitalist ideals as much as people were in the 60s. the stereotypical image people have of the 60s and 70s which was oh ever so frickin groovy exists as much now as it did then. people are still groovy they just dont wear flares anymore. honestly!

and do not forget! people were much less equal in the 60s. men were expected to be the breadwinners, women the mothers and the housewives. domestic violence wasnt even a crime! it was still acceptable to call asian people pakis!

    wake up man.

It's curious to me that an 18 year old speaks of the 60's, 70's as if she has lived during those years. A very one sided view, I agree with sunflower, though probably not agree with the way the issue was addressed...

I liked the poem, I too sometimes dream about living in the days of the hippie, and there are a lot of things about todays society that I really don't like. It wasn't perfect then, either, but at least there was a real counterculture where you could escape to. But I think it'd be better to make a new hippie era today, rather than fantasize about a time 40 years ago.
