Well, I soaked some rockwool cubes, poked some holes in them, used an old flourex lens, and started cutting with a very rusty 4" floor scraper blade. I hear the strain i am using is very easy to clone, so i used no hormones whatsoever. I sprinkled a minute amount of diatemitious earth with michorrize (micro-organisms that live in soil) on the base of the stem, and pinched the cubes like you should. So far it looks like one has drooped a little, but the rest have been standing at attention.8 clones i cut this way, partially to control growth of my mommy. The pic of the mom has an NL%xKush in the bottom left ,appearing on the page, And the mother is humbolt. The real deal.
Thanks, Im amazed at them myself, the one that was wilted- i re-cut the stem before i went to bed. today it is standing up with the rest of them. Im gonna shit if i get anything over 50% sucess rate on this run. Im not good at cloning, and I have no money for cloning supplies -like olivias cloning gel, which i did not use. When should i try to feed the little buggers? Like maybe some bat guano- actually i ferted them with batshit ,the day before i so rudely hacked away with a rusty razor.but im thinking of waiting a week before adding ferts. hey pist you out there? anyone? right now they are sitting in 1/4 inch of plain water.
Just use miracle grow or something. Water will do, there isn't a natural supply of fertaliser in the wild. I'll post pictures of my plants soon
I used some miracle grow transplant solution with b-1 - someone gave it to me- id rather use superthrive but am poor until I can trade me some extras for t-shirts i can tiedye. (unless i get a job soon, im also a carpenter) Might have to powder out some of the marine cusine my good bro gave me. That should give em all the trace they need.maybe 1/4 strength bat guano too. but im thinking i should wait a week. the droopy one i recut the stem on, and it perked right up.
wow tyedye, they look great, like our little babies too.... we just cloned our mama, Pineapple Punch.... took a bit, and they were droopy for about 1 1/2 weeks, but then they perked right up. When we fert, which we have done twice since taking cuttings, we fully flush the little gals 2 days (or if they look a bit yellow) after fertilizing to get the remaining salts out of the plant. Try any of the Foxfarms stuff, only about 15 bucks for a bottle, but you only need a teeeeeny amount... we use Big bloom and grow big...
Nobody knows everything, I been growing 30 years, and i still don't know shit!{Except that this GD shoreline run from 1990 sure sound good. } But im learnin!
TD, The Cloner says feed them at 1/4 strength with bat guano tea (or whatever) ONCE. -- I never had shit for luck cloning without hormones.
cool thanks geck! I had one succeeed in dirt that is now 11" tall and in the budroom, so now the real test is with 8 in rockwool. it has been well over 24 hours and they still look perky. If i need it only once, Ill wait a week or at least a few more days. I nailed them with batguano before i cut them off the mom.they should be good to go until i see some of the bigger bottom leaves start turning yellow, im thinking. I never had much success cloning with or without hormones, but I really have not tried much. This strain is reported to be real easy to clone with. That is good for building my non existent cloning confidence. next batch i'll use olivias, but mom needed a haircut, and i needed another wave.Im sure they would root much faster ,and with a better success rate with hormones. And if they die we are out of smoke ,so we will smoke um.
