I hope there was some mistake, that the people who told me this were lying. . . But apparantly the local head shop has stopped selling salvia because the whole deal about trying to make it illegal has finally hit courts. This fucking sucks.
Marijuana was made illegal when it threatened certain big businesses. Propaganda utilizing racism helped the bigwigs to scare the public, and to persuade congress to make it illegal. Fast forward to the mid sixties... LSD is banned. LSD was helping mental health professionals learn so much about the nature of the human mind... FFS it spawned a cultural revolution. Leary predicted exactly what would happen too, crappy doses made in clandestine labs were gonna be everywhere, with who knows what in it for impurities... Did anyone give a fuck? When MDMA was successfully used throughout the country by therapists to help patients with troubling memories and emotions, we decide it will be a schedule 1 drug, a drug with a high potential of abuse and no accepted medical use. Do you notice the pattern? Money is the motivator and ignorance is their tool all across the board. There really isn't much known about salvia, but I assure you the first thing the .gov learned is that there isn't much money to be made from it. Now, they'll make themselves look good to the ignorants by outlawing this new drug that is the big craze with all the kids, obviously making the world a better place , and then they wage war with everybody because of the wacked-out 'we are the kings of the world' attitude. Another heaping load of bullshit for all of your plates, and they'll have you keep eating til you have to unbutton your pants...
I hear the skeptics saying that little research has been done on salvia and we don't know the long term effects of usage, pluss it seems to be gaining popularity. All of this is being used against salvia. If they only could hear what they are saying "We don't know if it's harmful, so let's ban it." Deep down the problem is that they don't wan't people to think differently than they allready do. Drugs that cause philosophical thougts are bad because they threaten the staus quo. Because they can't use this argument openly, they have to resort to iilogical statments like "lets ban it because it might be dangerous though nothing suggests this at the moment".
some people tried it and said this is more impressive/scary than "x-illegal-x" substance next something should be done to protect our children. as if
Yea, salvia kind of freaks me out, I don't say this about much drugs, but I usually pass on it when offered. Still doesn't mean we should be so stupid as to just ban what we don't understand.
I am very sorry, but my opinion on salvia is that it sucks horribly bad. I dunno why anybody would want to undergo such torture. It is not fun. It feels shitty and wierd
That's exactly how I felt after getting shit-faced drunk for my first time. I overcame that obstacle and today I still feel shitty and wierd when I'm pissed.
What gets me is how surprised people act when a new drug is about to become illegal or becomes illegal. The fact is that we live in a state very much opposed to recreational drug use (alcohol as an exception). This state will do everything it can to prevent its citizens from using psychedelic substances for fun or pleasure. Salvia is just another hallucinogenic drug out there. That it has not yet been made illegal is surprising to me, since I have not heard of any medical or research uses for it. That the research chemicals are not explicitly illegal also surprises me, since scientists are not wondering whether they may cure cancer or be used for some industrial purpose. Let's get real, folks. We may not agree with our government, but let's not act surprised when this happens. If anything, the government is a bit slow about making its laws more consistent. Just be thankful that the government kept a blind eye for such a long period of time; if you are smart you will still get to use your psychedelics clandestinely.
i just tried it last night for the first time. its powerful sheeit, man. id say the experience defies words more than any other drug ive taken. i think it could easily scare the bejesus out of an inexperienced drug user. i think my trips on mush and lsd definitely helped me deal with it. my two other friends both took one deep puff and held - i took two (we took turns and watched each other). i ended up first on my back on the couch with my feet in the air, laughing my ass off, then standing up and saying something like "oh yeah im stayin on top of it" as the room rose up in a wave and tried to swamp me - but i rode it out because i didnt want my head to go under the floor. i had to go outside after it wore off and be alone. i did some handstands and forward rolled on to my back from them to get back in touch with three dimensional reality. the rest of the night i felt ...unhinged. i just didnt give a damn about anything for the next few hours. i have a feeling that if i do it again, and let the wave swamp me, i honestly dont know what the fuck i'll see under there. should be interesting, though.
