This is a report I read on another forum which seems to be reliable and a good sign. Seems like it time to head for the glades! ...................... I just spoke with someone who was onsite (new site) yesterday and askedabout a couple of thing that folks have been worried about. I should note that this person is about as a-political as she can get and has no agenda one way or another. I specifically asked about the road and she said there is a road going to one side of the site, an area that will probably be Bus Village. It is usually closed, and she said she thought the FS would keep it closed for the duration of the gathering. The road does NOT go through the middle of the site. I asked her if there were trees and plenty of places to camp and she said yes. I asked whether the site was a marsh and she said no, that there was a marsh in the middle of it, but that it site itself is not a marsh. There is an interpretive center nearby with maps to the marsh--or I guess it's a bog--and that folks from the gathering are walking around the bog with maps in their hands. It sounded pretty funny. She said there are about 1,000 people on site, no grumbling, everybody working in harmony to get things set up. They were working on water lines yesterday. She said there wasn't much talk about the permit. She said there is nobody at the old site, that everybody moved to the new site two days ago. I didn't ask her about the permit signer or the cop movie. Sorry. Too early in the morning to remember everything (my god/dess, Carla, she says to herself, shaking her head, those are the most important things to find out about ...) She says the locals are fine with our being there. So that's what she told me.
Wiseaction picked up this info from AGR, originally posted by one of the media camp crew. An article in the WV Metro News reported that Bus Village, Main Meadow and A-camp are all located in the same meadow. More AGR rumors state that those on site are doing the best they can, given the circumstances but folks are parking next to a highway and camping there as well. Wiseaction, we will also ask 'Who are you? and also How many Gatherings have you been to?' Those of us who are 'oldtimers' know who's words to post and who to believe as far as rumor mills, and although the writer of the info you posted is reliable, she is not on site yet. The most reliable source of site info right now is Hawker. Also, Wiseaction, please xx all names in posts when you move them unless you have been given permission to post them. It is a matter of respect. Thank you.
i'll be onsite tomorow but have no clue if i or anyone with me will be able to report back but if we can we will once we see firsthand if you dont hear anything, i'd suggest just assumming its all good & come on home i'll be more likely to try harder to get to somewhere to report back only if theres major issues
Bus Village, Main Meadow and A-camp are all located in the same meadow? Not my idea of a gathering. I will probably stop by and say hello to a few folks, but theres no way I would camp there.
Travel safely! we all know that Family is doing the best they can and a good rumor is that the LEO presence is dwindling. Much Love & many Hugs!
"Also, Wiseaction, please xx all names in posts when you move them unless you have been given permission to post them." Point well taken. I removed the header but did miss the one name reference by the poster to herself in parenthesis towards the end of the post. "...we will also ask 'Who are you? and also How many Gatherings have you been to?" May the gathering be blessed with the kindness, wisdom, courage, strength, skill, humility and humor we need to heal and empower each other in these troubled and amazing times!
