You ~are~ using cloth to diaper those bums right?? ;)

I have cloth diapered all of my babes, so who am I in company with?

What kind of diapering system do you use? I just use the old fashion prefolds (but of quality) and covers.

The only thing Im guilty of is using disposable wipes :( I hate that I do, but it is too easy.(PooPoo is so messy!)

YEP! I'm here too. I have a few handed down mother ease and some popolinos, and some country somethin or other ones that we don't like much. We also use prefolds and covers (home-made). I have to confess though, I use both disposables and cloth:& ...when we go out for a day trip or something, we use sposies. If I don't feel like doing the laundry, uhg, I'll use sposies. I wish I could afford a daiper service. Sposies are soooooo wasteful and using cloth is just not that hard at all. I just get lazy sometimes, which is BAD BAD BAD.

We're going to use sposies when we go to Reno at the end of July for 10 days.

Some cloth is better than none though, right? :) We definitly use more cloth than disposables.

There's some all-in-ones on my webstie that I'm dieing to try. I'm hoping one day I'll make enough money to buy some....but for now the simple ones work fine.

a little off topic; speaking of cloth diapers and how terrible the disposable ones are... what about cloth menstrual pads? who uses those? disposable menstrual pads are a huge waste too. i've been using cloth for about 2.5 years and LOVE them! i've saved a ton of $ too :)

i used disposable diapers on my kids, but if i ever have any more they will be cloth-diapered ferdamnsure!

***GASPS*** You did?!!! OMG! Where abouts and when? I grew up there! I'm so excited to be going back to visit family and see my friends and all that! I'm gonna PM you and we can talk more about it off the thread.

    p...willow-

Have you ever tried the diva cup? I've been thinking about buying one for myself off my site, but haven't totally decided on it yet. If you have, would you recommend it? Or the cloth menstrual pads?

    Thanks!

I only used old fashoined Bird's Eye flats, the kind you have to fold and pin. I had some pre-folds, but I wasn't crazy about them, either. Took too long to dry, stains didn't come out so well. My bird's eyes washed easily, dried in no time, and one size fits all. Fold 'em small for a newborn, fold 'em big for a bigger baby, double them up for a toddler or for overnight.

the new fangled kind of cloth diapers look like washable disposables to me. Too complicated, what with soakers, doublers, and inserts and covers, and having to buy different sizes for $18 a diaper? Sounds expensive to me. And hanging around the diapering boards and hearing all the people asking how to wash them, how to get rid of the smells, etc,, etc, I'm glad I didn't have to deal with none of that! They're awful cute though, I'll give you that!

What Brighid said. The newer ones are really cute, and probably a lot of people like them. But I always used prefolds, pins and vinyl pants. I had some wraps, too. I liked the snap wraps better, though. Velcro always scared my babies when they were newborns. LOL! RZZZZIIIIIIPPPPPP!!!! WAHHHHHHHHHH!

And after a short time there would always be stuff stuck in the velcro. I'd be there with a pin, trying to clean the velro. LOL!

OMG that is so cool :)

Aww cloth diapers are the cutest.

Was cloth diapered myself (in the days just before it was radical, late 80's) and even used to cloth diaper my dolls. :)
So shall definetly carry on for future offspring.

Guess Mum must have used the only fashioned flat ones. She wasn't crazy about having to pin them, but they obviously worked well.

I used prefolds and wraps during the day, but had to use disposies at night because Virginia was a super-soaker! She soaked through everything! I figured one diaper a day is better than 8-10 through out the day, so I didn't feel bad about it.

I used the old flat diapers with my big kids. With Dakota I used disposable for most of the first two years. On his second birthday we went to cloth underwear during the day and cloth velcro diapers at night. I am so happy to report that we are out of diapers completely now. He will be 3 next week. About two weeks ago I started to put his night time diaper on him and he said, "No diaper, Nemo." Meaning he wanted to wear his Nemo underwear to bed. Well, we've been diaper free ever since and only 1 accident. He's growing up so fast.

Both of my kids are out of dipes now, but we were a cloth family also! I still have some that I cannot manage to part with. We used prefolds and fuzzybuns covers and it was so easy.

I use momma cloth also and just bought a diva cup, but the dang thing was so uncomfortable! I slept in it and woke up with a horrible pain in my stomach. Told my dh that I had a crick in my cervix! But it was fine during the day for the most part. I bought it so I could swim during my moontime since I didn't think my cloth would do well in the pool!

I love the pics of your babes in their cloth and also the breastfeeding/sling pics!! Nice to meet like-minded mommas!

Brighid, LOL! I can do the "one pin in front" fold, too. Not the best for kids who spend a lot of time on their bellies. :) The nice thing about flat diapers is you can use them for other things, because they can be made into all kinds of shapes and sizes. Even a small blanket for a really tiny baby. I also use them to prop up the breast of a large breasted mama when she is having a hard time holding on to the baby, latching and needs two hands for the baby.
