i'm thinking about going to vietnam for a holiday. has anybody had any experience there or know of some good must-see gay places etc?
I understand that Vietnam remains a pretty conservative society. Try Thailand if you're looking for something gay, though a lot of it is sex trade which is encouraged by the Thai government as a way to promote tourism. I did have a Vietnamese boyfriend once (though that was here in America), and I'm sure that there are plenty of gay Vietnamese. They just may be rather difficult to find.
that's the attraction: that it's not like thailand and not commercial. i think it might be hard in the first stages to meet guys but once the word gets out what u r looking 4 then things might start 2 get interesting. i went to a city in indonesia once and lobbed up to the public park, chatted up this young guy, went off together and the next time i went to the park there were about 20 of his friends waiting 4 me (no BS). ah yes the halcyon days...
