I posted some other images in the arts room but i thought you lot might like to hear about this.

Jaycee bought me a klit of encaustic art for my birthday. Its using a special iron to melt wax onto papper to make images!! looks great and is really good fun. heres some of the pictures we come up with.

Hehe yea thats what i thought. its great no matter how much you try and controll it someone else will see something different to you :)even turn it on its "side" and say thats what way round it should be. i'v taken to etching into the wax with trees and stars and a unicorn :)

you heat up the iron and hold it upside down and melt the wax onto it. Then turn it upright and lightly move it across the papper :) thats what makes the different effect, by dabbing, or stroaking or wiggling the iron.

You se difeerent colours of wax for diferent effects too.

Must search for encaustic art kits online.

How do you keep the wax from peeling off?

I think its a special kind of wax thats designed for it, unlike say candle wax or sealing wax which is harder... this more resembles.. say wax crayons but not quite as soft :)

they are about the size of a photograph and we are selling them at a car boot for 50p :p but i could try and do an A4 one for you if you like, i'd have to charge you about £4 to include postage an packaging so as we can postage it so as it wont get damaged :)
