Hey guys this is not arguegrow,and im sure we all grow better pot than what i have seen come from the clubs here near frisco. once you get to a certain level, it is all the same ,some just have different methods.

I hear ya', I basically said the same thing. I'm not arguing, I'm just telling him how it is. Resin production doesn't mean shit because each strain has a different production level. Some of the strongest bud I have ever smoked wasn't very good looking. People are judging my abilities because my growroom is small and not very impressive looking, they are leaving out the QUALITY of the smoke. I can grow SHIT LOADS of garbage for yeild, but I go for potency. I have been smoking for over 15 years, I have a very high tolerance (I'm sure you know how that is) and quantity does not get me high, quality and high THC %'s does. Once I get into my new place and set up my new grow space, which is going to be much larger, people like this guy will shut up. The size of a person's growroom doesn't = thier abilities.


OverGrow has some great info, but it is tough to mingle....very cliqueish. I very rarely go there, except to check out the grow pics to see if any new hybrids are about.

 

Guysmiley is absolutely correct in the # of trios in know way relates to potency.The NL5kush cross I play with only has a small amount of visible trio frost but will rip ya a new asshole!

 

And the moral of the story is:

Throw a MH in the grow room for increased CBD to THC isomerization! More blue and violet light, the more available energy for the plant to produce the unnessacary THC.

Yes, thc is a chemical produced by the plant to protect it from the elements of nature. For the best cannibanoid- including thc production- look to the areas that they come from, study the natural enviroment or habitat of all really good strains. the best weed comes from extreme climates. Thc is produced to protect a plant, if you baby the plant there is no reason to protect itself.

I gotta agree gec- those little ass air buds i grew under my halide get me more ripped than those prety ass nugs at the clubs. Glad all the same for the hps, and i think temp ranges are more important than spectrum for increased resin production, but the spectum of hps definetly gets them fatter.
The high temps should be during veg and preflower,as plants pre flower in late summer. Then the focus should be cooler night temps, to properly simulate nature, and furthur increase fatness simultaneously.

for me it is not how big, but how good, now i gotta work on big and great!

IMO a MH is a waste of $ and electricity with the new Hps bulbs being designed specifically for indoor horticulture which supply 30-40 % more blues.Mh are obsolete IMO!

 

Hell i dont care if it is a zimbabwe green cave light, if i can get plants to produce like i can outdoors, resinwise and all, then why bother to do outdoor and put myself at risk of helicopters. I love the effects that are produced from the 150w rat ass spotlight i just got. It rocks, and the buds are getting dense.

But i like it hot, and so do most my plants, and im just glad i got it down to 85 degrees for the last few weeks on this wave.i trimmed the mute today and it was kind.

Washington & Oregon produce some of the best qualities of buds I've ever seen. The prices are a little higher here I think, on average, but I think it just goes along with the economy of wherever people live. Like I AM sure where minimum wage is 5 bucks it's cheaper then where minimum wage is $7.50. Prices vary from quality to dealer also. Here in the Seattle for some average pot with a hook up you can get it for like $200-$225 per oz. For some really killer Washington green it ranges from about $250-$350 per oz. depending on the connect. Eights range from about $35-50 depending on the grade & the hook-up also. My boyfriend & I grew some of the most beautiful plants I have ever seen. We grew some blueberry, of course, some strawberry blonde, white rhino, titan. He's the one who got me into smokin' doobies all the time. Now I AM hooked & it kinda sucks because buying it adds up quickly when you have a good 3-5 joints per day habit!! Ohhhh, weren't those the daze?!

 

I used to smoke what you are calling washington green all the time, Actally we called it KGB ,or Killer Green Bud.. then it was 180 to 220 for the kills though.

contrawise, the MH bulbs with increased red light are where it's at- I think.

Although I'd toss an extra just-red light in there for suplement.

Pot plants don't need THC per se. They only need the cannabiniods in general.

Mountain grown buds get more UVb than lowland buds and are generally better UNLESS it's equitorial bud, in which case it recieves high UVb because the Sunlight transverses less atmosphere and less UVb is absorbed.

Call me hard headed if ya choose,But as I see it why spend the the money on a Mh bulb that has 20-30% less lumen life than that of a hps as well as a average of 20% less lumen output of its matched wattage counterpart(hps).We all know increased ultraviolet light is thought to effect cannaboid production but is uncertain as we speak.We know that cbd's break down to thc which in turn breaks down to to cbn's which has a direct effect on psychoactive properties that we all strive for in flowers.These are all excellerated in flower due to the suns angle of light in flowering during summer afternoons/evenings.The recent advancement in hps bulbs(specically the Solarmax) leave no question in my mind as to what the better all around bulb is. It seems pointless to me to use Mh for veg when it is more important to supply adequate spectrum for flower where weight and increase in production of cannabolic acids on flowers is more important for potentcy.The new added red Mh bulbs are a improvement but far behind the advancements in hps bulbs.There could be benefits in using the 2 in conjunction but then you have almost twice the heat as well with 2 lights.From my experience as a sole means of light a hps will always out perform a MH in end result of yield as well as potency..

 

UVb? is that ultra violet blue? then a blacklight has to figure in the equasion somehow, arent they UVb?
