i dont know if anyone on here is any good with gecco's but i thought i would give this a try.
right my younger brother has a leopard gecco called coral she is 3 years old, at the moment she seems to be loosing weight quite alot, we think most of it is because he being the lazy little crapper that he is didnt bother to find out what she needed (he had books, internet, people telling him) like the food she eats he was feeding her crickets but she got bitten in her mouth by one and was really ill, i suggested beheading them. He didnt bother to do this and decided to stop buying them and just feeding her wax worms. i did tell him wax worms are ment to be a treat as their fat content not as a achall meal.we have said maybe feed her mill worms, crickets etc. now we have found out he hasnt been she has lost weight, she has shedded again, but i need to know if anyone knows anything that will cheer her up apart from the right diet and any other food she would like.

    i own a leopard gecko.
so i might be able to help out :).

first of all does your brother have a moss hut in his leopard geckos tank?
Leopard geckos need a place where they can sit during shedding to help ease the itching..

What kinda heat source does your brother have for his leo? a heating mat? or light?

Does he dust the crickets with calcuim dust before he feeds them to his leopard gecko? Also how many does he feed at a time? if he feeds to many the crickets might start to eat the leopard gecko instead of the other way around.

do you know if it is a male or female? females tend to be skinnier and picky about eating. males are pigs, they will eat till they pop.

Does your brother gutload the crickets before feeding them to the leopard gecko? gutloading means: feeding the crickets high grade cricket feed or salads to highten the amount of Vitamin intake. making them healthier for the leopard gecko to consume.

well he has moss, and i think he puts that in her sweat box, i dont know what heat source he uses though. he doesn't feed her crickets cause he thinks they will eat her alive, even though i have said they wont, he does feed her wax worms and he dusts them in calicum and he puts it in her water, her eye is going all horrible as well she has just shedded again so thats alrite. i dont know what to do with her though like i have said i will take her on and put her in the front room and i will pay the vets bills but he is stubborn little git, and he works full time and goes to college so he hasn't got time for her. grrrrrrr

Wax worms are a good supplement or treat, but are too fatty and not nutritious enough for a regular diet. Start with a feeding schedule of once daily or every other day.

Babies seem to prefer to chase their meals, adults will eat mealworms out of a shallow dish. Feed early evening if possible .The geckos soon learn when it is dinner time, and will come out of their hide boxes to eat. Some appear to enjoy being hand-fed. Feed as many mealworms/crickets as they will eat in a single feeding.

Also what is the leopard gecko housed on? sand? bark? paper?

bark. like he is getting worse with her now, yesterday my dad went in to see her and my brother didnt put any water in for her and everything weas bone dry. he says he cant get hold of mill worms, and doesnt want to feed her crickets cause he thinks they will bite her, even though i have said if u watch them they shouldn't. my mum wont take her of him either and he wants a lock for his room so no one can get in there. im seriously thinking of calling a animals rescue charity or something so they might be able to take her of him.

i doubt an animal shelter would give it the proper care it needs....
