When do you think is gonna start the collpase, the armageddon if you belive it will happen? I don't know if it will happen for real, but I do believe that if it would, then it would be something starting from one single event liking itself with several ones causing one another bringing anything to disaster.. two "little" examples: september 11th and tsunami , think how many consequences were determined either by the airplane chrashes or by the huge wave..
2008. That's when the baby boomers, who have saved no money for retirement, will start retiring. The "Social Security" shell game will be shown for what it is - a vault full of IOUs rather than a fund that's carefully invested the public's money. So, the baby boomers (who intended, somehow, to be on a sandy beach somewhere with miles of pristine ocean playground) will say oh well, I'll just sell the house I bought in 1975 for $4K for about, oh, $350,000 and after paying off the refinancings and equity loans, let's see.... I'll have $40,000 or so, better than nothing... Problem is, with outsourcing, cutting of real pay and benefits, there's no vanguard of youngins who can afford $350,000+ for a home. Doesn't matter how many hot tubs it has. Ponzi schemes are illegal for private business but legal for governments... Social Security will either have to not pay out benefits or raise taxes 90% or something, because Social Security obligations is 60+% of GDP. That's when China calls in the hefty loans it's been giving us to hang ourselves with, and the house of cards goes down hard.
The end starts this year, have fun. Watch for a peace treaty in the middle east. You will begin to see clear signs that we are now living in the End of Days, the real end/begging will happen in 2012.
1948: The Beginning of the End of Time Christ's parable of the fig tree is the most revealing Scripture concerning the time of Christ's return. It actually pinpoints the generation of people living on earth just before Christ appears. In the Bible, the fig tree is a historic symbol of the nation of Israel. The parable speaks of the fig tree putting forth leaves. Many theologians believe this is a clear reference to the rebirth of Israel. If that is true, then we are the generation that will witness the physical return of Jesus Christ. Since Israel declared itself a nation in 1948. What the parable is telling us is the following: The generation born in the year 1948 would not pass away. In other words, when Jesus Christ returns some people will still be alive on the planet who were born in the year 1948. We are Entering God's Third Day With only a few realizing it, the world will soon be entering the third day of God. In the Old Testament in the book of Hosea, there is a key verse often overlooked. It states, "After two days He will revive us: in the third day He will raise us up, and we shall live in His sight" (Hosea 6:2). Before Christ rescues His people from the planet, the Bible says He will resurrect the bodies of His servants that died in the past. "For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord" (1 Thessalonians 4:16,17). After Christ died, He was resurrected on the third day. According to Hosea 6:2, God will call the dead in Christ from out of their graves on the third day. Christ then will rescue His people that are alive on earth. Now, here is where things start to get interesting. The Bible gives us two time references speaking of this event. These two references are found in the Old and the New Testaments and are totally independent of each other. Yet, both of these references appear to converge at the same time in the future. However, God's two days are not 24-hour days. God's days are much longer than ours as explained in II Peter 3:8, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." To illustrate, Christ was resurrected in the year 33 A.D. If the passage of 2000 years equals two days in God's time, then the end of the two days will be in the year 2033. The third day thus will start in the year 2034. Although 2034 may or may not be the exact year Christ returns, His coming must be very close. For you see, the generation that was born in the year 1948 will be 86 years old in 2034. It was Jesus who said in Matthew 24:34 that this generation would not pass away until all end-time prophecies would be fulfilled.
surely the equation of one day to a thousand years is a metaphor?one thousand years is a graspable time span to people of old.in this day,you could probably substitute a million years instead,if god has been around and will be around for ever, then a million years is in the blink of an eye to him. changes will happen, and have been happening for some time now,but there never can be an "end of days"god has been perfecting the world since he created it,and it wont be long before EVERY person sees a better way of living.more people are getting in tune every day,at an exponential rate and ultimately, this will lead to heaven on earth, with the help of god
I doubt very seriously if you can predict the end time from vaugue and confusing doctrine, theologens have been giving us very little time based on that for a millenia, and most of them were wrong, so theres no reason to believe there right now. Some people say its like 2012 or 14 because thats how far the mian calander went, of course it could be they just got tired of making the thing. geologicaly we are somewhat overdue for a mass extinction, wether it be by meteor, massive volcanic eruption or even a "sudden" ice age. overall I think it best we just dont sweat it, if it comes it comes, nothing much we can do about it
it's already started, look at the the world today. Oil is ratcheting up in price, always going higher. Wars are being fought, people are getting desperate, terrorism is up. Shit is about to really hit the fan, but the process has already begun. No, I'm not talking about Biblical end days, I'm talking about Peak Oil and energy crisis concerns. Because it all comes down to energy: that is the one base reqirement for any system, it must have energy. We have a huge system, and an energy crisis is about to give us a run for our money. It may not be total disaster, but big changes are coming. It's interesting, because there are also positive things out there. Democracy is spreading, people are standing up for themselves where they can. Sometimes it ends up as a riot but thats a sign of people not wanting to be trampled on. Consciousness of the problems we face is indeed spreading, so while the change may be painful for many (billions could die (worst case scenario) in food shortages thanks to our dependance on industrial farming(which uses oil)), but maybe we'll end up in a better place. And anyways, it may not be all that bad, if we have good disaster management and stick together.
The Bible does not state that one single, disastrous event will kick off the end. The beginning of the end... starts with peace. Peace among nations in the middle east (two to be specific) will begin the final seven years before Armageddon.
