I hate how the whole world is all about money. People will do anything for it. I am just starting to realize this, saying all my canned phrases at work to customers who will nail you if you don't ask them if they'd like to try a certain thing (they get free movie passes) and working up late late late, just to wake up in the morning and realize that I have to go to work again in 4 hours. Is this how the rest of my life will go, even after college? Is this how many people's lives are, for their entire working days? I don't want to be a slave to money! There are ways to not be, and I'll find them. How about you guys?
you work at a conglomeration. they dotn give a fuck about you. and yes. that is how the rest of your life will be.. sucks dont it.
Oh get over it. You say you will find a way for money not to run your life, but the sad thing is you need money to get things you need. Sure you can have a garden, but on what land your parents? If not then how are you going to buy the land. You can trade items for some stuff. You have to have money. I'm not saying work yourself into the grave out of greed. But please realize that work is a part of life - even if money wasn't. You can't get everything for free.
Yes, this is the rest of your life. Welcome to the real world. I've been doing this since I was 18 and if I stop now, I don't eat. Its your choice. You could just live at home the rest of your life I suppose
You got it. My life resembles the movie Groundhog Day. Except I'm actually stuck in it. But all that being tired jazz is for the weak! This is the land of the FREE babay!
Unfortunately, work is a reality to an extent. Ya gotta pay the bills ya know. I like my work for the most part, but sometimes it kicks my ass pretty good. I spent 68 hours at the office this week because if I didn't, shit woulda hit the fan and I'd be outta of a job. Most weeks its more like 50 though. Today I was there from 7:45 in the morning until 10:15 at night, hosted 1 breakfast, 3 weddings, 1 family reunion and 2 dinners - it was difficult, it was intense, but I enjoyed the challenge of it and feel good that everything went well and I made people happy. If that's what it takes to keep a roof over my head, I'll do it and for the most part enjoy it.
i dont feel as though im a slave to money...and good luck with trying to find a way not to be... i find working not that big of a deal.. i work 5 days a week 7-315 at a job i like and get weekends off and get a nice check and sometimes i get a bonus.. wow, what a horrible thing...
Read Walden Two and you'll see what I'm getting at better. It just seems dumb that most people get treated like crap just to get paid, which they DO need to survive, when there should, and could, be ways to make life better for everyone without money as the sole reason to be productive. I will always have to earn money, but not be a slave to it, like now. When I get my ridiculously expensive college education it will be different.
like everyone is alotted their fair share of food and shelter, but expected to pull their own weight?
The problem with these philosopher socialists is that they always envisage themselves in the four bedroom Victorian home with all the fancy woodwork philosophizing about the plight of the working man, while everyone else works in the factories, mines, etc.
