the ways of meditating that work for me are: 1) Sit in a candle lit room with some music turned down real low. Sit and relax. Close your eyes. Focus on the "blank screen" in your eyelids. focus on all the colors swirling around. make sure your mind is clear and it is at ease. 2) Candle lit room and music turned down.... sit and realax your mind. focus on breathing and work on stretching you arm and neck muscles gently and slowly. after, focus on one word or concept rather it be peace for example. think long and hard and you will acheive your goal of finding answers that way. after, open your eyes to a refreshed feeling. these techniques work best for me. be sure to add coments or any other meditating techniques that work for you. peace
Quite true. I used to, when starting out, meditate with some drone ambient playing softley, but after a while got sick of it. Instead of actually meditating I was simply falling into a trance, which is not the same.
I (grab a bo and) run deep in to the forest where I preform some moves till my mind is totally clear... thats how I meditate
I like sitting out at a park or on a hill or somthing and just focus on Breathing.. also thinking about "a cork in water" its really peaceful... try it sometime
A cork in the water, i used to think of a sailboat but I like the cork. Yeah I usally with go onto a hill near me joint and lay there and look at the sunset for a while and shut me eyes and focus on my breathing.
well, the way that works for me is lighting your favorite insense, and turning on some tunes. The tunes best for me are instrumental, such as some dark side of the moon, or mozart. Whatever youre into. Do it at a time when you wont have any distractions. NONE! Relax, be chill, and float into your subconscious.
I've run across a couple of forms of meditation that you might find helpful: 1. First is a great one that you do throughout the day. Really only takes a few moments. Even better is to set a timer (one that does not tick) and do this for 4 or 5 minutes a couple of times per day. Can really make a big difference. http://www.thewayofseeing.com/article_mini-meditation.html 2. A more formal meditation can be found in a link of this page ("sitting meditation"): http://www.thewayofseeing.com/elements.html
Personally... for someone like me who has a variable attention span... Tai Chi is the only way to go. The movements combined with the breathing help focus my mind when I'd otherwise be day-dreaming.
While I enjoy a seated meditation in the forest, I have found walking meditation to be more soothing to me in times of stress. Walking meditation can be easier for some who have a hard time getting into a seated meditation too, it's what I used to introduce my 6 year old to meditation and now he can meditate for almost 10-15 minutes at a time...which is pretty impressive for a 6 year old!
The way i meditate is to play the didjeridoo, not everyone can do this as I can play for up to 2 Hrs non stop at a time, but mostly medetate for about 3/4 hr as it takes about 15 mins to get in to a meditative state so meditate anything between 30 mins & 2 Hrs The circular breathing & the sounds of the Didj just relaxes the muscles as you have to concentrate on teh circular breathing on it'self when I stop, i feel overwhelmed and a self state of conciousness
personally its the tradititional Viapassana meditation, it helps me to become focused into my relaxed but aware zone. However i feel there are infinite ways of meditation, and many work variably effectivley according to the person, environment etc etc. I know people who's meditation is playing guitar, many others who's is african drumming.
