When the super mods first made me mod of the Bare It forum, I wondered if I was the right person for the job. Yes, I barefoot. No, I'm not a naturist. And hell no, I'm not a nudist. How can a person that only is one out of the three things this forum is about BE an appropriate moderator?

But this weekend, TARABELLE and her husband invited Brian and I out to their cabin at the nudist resort, Lake Bronson. Of course, with all of the stress we dealt with this week, we accepted, only too happy to get away from it all....even our clothing...hehe...

So we show up, and Critical Mass (some Burning Man type gathering) is taking place. Lots of people in funky costumes walking around, lights and everything all around.

We chill at Tara's cabin for a little bit, before going down to see the "village" at the RV park. Before we left for that, we got comfortable. And I don't mean sweats and a t-shirt comfortable. I took off my clothing. Yes. Me. The barefooting moderator became a nudist. Wrapped in only a sarong (so bare-breasted, as weird as that is for me...:p), I went traipsing around this village, exploring the music and the tents (and some were just outrageous...) of the gathering.

Afterwards, we went to the main lounge of the resort, showered (with other people...so I was completely nude in front of strangers), and hot-tubbed (I LOVE hot tubs).

After all of that, I have to say, that I am very, very comfortable with my body now. I had a few moments of paranoia. I heard people giggling behind me and could have sworn they were laughing at my saggy weird-looking breasts or my tummy. But I just shrugged it off and kept walking.

Nudism is just a nothing. I didn't even think about it after the shocking first 20 minutes (I stared at every penis and breast I saw :p). After that, I was just so comfortable with everything that I didn't mind it.

But I do have to say....Barefooting there is almost impossible. I was barefooted the whole time the first day. I didn't bring any shoes with me. But the mix of only moonlight to guide you and lots of gravel, no grass, made it difficult to walk. I have blisters on the bottoms of my feet now. The second day, I borrowed sandals from Tara's husband because it was too painful to be barefooted.

Anyway, that's it. The Bare It! forum moderator has now tried barefooting and nudism. Oh yeah, and I guess naturism too...I hadn't shaved, wasn't wearing make-up....just all natural...does that count? Personally, being unshaven and all made me feel very....grody....

But I did shower a lot more :D

I think youre a good moderator either way and it never mattered to me weither you were a barefooter or naturist or nudist. Im just glad you tried it out and liked it. Im happy youre here reguardless though. I couldnt think of anybody better for the job. Its always a good thing if the person moderating the forum likes what the forum is about but I never thought it should ever be a requirement.

Well done! We took a friend to a nude beach this weekend, and she had said she would come, as long as she didn't have to go naked. She was worried that she wouldn't cope with seeing lots of naked people, never mind seeing us naked, and that there was no WAY she'd go naked herself.

We got there, got undressed, and it took her 10 minutes to decide there was nothing to worry about after all, and she went topless, and would have gone naked, except for the "time of the month", and wants to come back and do it properly.

For a lot of people, 10 mins to 30 mins is all it takes to go from Oh My GOD! To, "ok, this is no big deal, and it's nice.

Glad you enjoyed it Holly. We told you so.

Nothing grody about being unshaven. I remember the "Hairy Women's Club" back in my college days. These earthy women put up posters to gain acceptance for unshaven women who like to show off their lovely hirsuit. They were so cool. Later I was camping with a nice bunch of kindreds and we all showed off our armpit hair. I mean, what else do you do camped out in the wilderness for days on end?

Isn't that a wonderful thing to hear her (or anyone) say!

I doubt they were laughing at you. There was SO much laughing going on all the time and these Critical Mass people are just not mean spirited like that. I think it must have been your understandable first time nervousness.

So well put and so hard to describe to the uninitiated.

AND Holly is a barefooter! Thanks for the "shoedist" validation - I have wimpy feet, but love the nudism[IMG].

I'm so glad they came out and enjoyed being nakkid and the funky, funky atmosphere surrounding Critical Mass.[IMG]

Holly didn't sell out on anything. She had blisters on her feet and kept on walking, though a little gingerly. I was the one who insisted she wear some sandals that we had. We have very rough ground and mean plants, definetly a place to come to toughen up those soles if you so chose!

I'm not a sell out. I walked around barefooted most of my time there. But the second day, I woke up with blisters on the bottoms of my feet and was walking so gingerly that to walk around was just so painful. I was walking slowly and I would have held everyone else back.

    Shnudism is appropriate sometimes.

But I am first and foremost a barefooter. I will not wear shoes in occasions where I do not need them. And if saying that I need shoes at Lake Bronson makes me a sell-out, then by god, I'm a happy sell-out! :p
