We finally found out this week that we're having another little girl We're having a horrible time picking out names, of course, but we have some time still. I like Autumn, but hubby says it makes him think of Autumn Rain, and Ryvre's middle name is Raine, so that won't work. I think Autumn Moon sounds pretty, but being born near Halloween may turn that into a bad idea. *sigh* During the quick ultrasound, the nurse-dude also commented that the placenta was "a little low" whatever that means. He said it wasn't blocking the exit though, and didn't sound concerned. I take that to mean it's more likely to move up than down, lol. I hope he would tell me if it was something to worry about. He did, however, seem a little concerned, or actually confused, that at 22 weeks, i've actually lost 4 lbs from my prepregnancy weight. I started out overweight (by alot) so i guess the baby is just causing me to metabolize differently (?). My uterus measures at 23 weeks, but then, he just used a measuring tape on my belly, so i'm guessing the extra padding probably alters that figure a bit. He asked if i'd been sick (no) and if i was eating (hell yeah, more than i probably should). He kinda shrugged, and said that as long as i felt fine, and was eating, there was nothing to worry about. He still looked confused though, haha.
YEAY!!!! Little girls are so sweet ! I remember with our last baby (Ruby 16 months) the entire time I was pregnant we were SURE it would be another boy. We about fell over when the ultrasound girl told us it was a little girl! We went in and had one of the 3D ultra sounds and it was awsome~ But then she was happily born at home into my husbands hands... Ok... Im going off about me when this is about YOU! lol Anyways~ Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy how much longer do you have? Is this your last baby?
Congrats Good to know everything is going well. Oh I love the name Autumn too, how about Autumn Sky or Autumn Rose? Opal would be a nice middle name too (as it's the birthstone for October) If you like I can ask around for suggestions on the name forums I visit.
Hehe, by all means TaraBeth, ramble on--we love birth stories and kid stories around here This is our last baby; three feels right for us. When the kids are much older, i'd love to have foster kids, or adopt a little one or two if our situation is good for that, but this feels like it'll be my last pregnancy. The little bun is about half-baked (22 weeks) so i'm getting excited, and sad that it's almost over, all at once. Any name suggestions are welcome. Our other kids were so easy to name, but this one just doesn't seem to want to reveal much of her personality yet. Siblings' names are Ryvre Raine and Willow Sage--i'm trying to at least avoid another "R" name, as saying "Ryvre and Willow" is almost a tongue-twister anyway for some; i bet an 'R' a 'W' and another 'R' would be rough, lol. Our last name is Amann (A-men)
Wow! You chose ultra cool names for your kids and I bet they sound so neat with your last name too! My suggegtions wouldn't even match up to what your kiddos have now. But I am excited to hear what you decide on We have 3 too and its just perfect. Are you having a homebirth? (((belly rub)))) !!!!
I wouldn't worry about the weight thing, or the placenta. Talk to your doctor or midwife. Baby girls! I think Ocean is a pretty name and would go with your other babies, as is the name Forest or Meadow. Maybe Meadowsweet, it's an herb. But, it's your baby. Hip Forums used to have a really great "hippy baby names" list. I can't find it, though. I'll ask and see if I can get a link. Take care of yourself, Michelle. My prayers are with you on this beautiful journey. Love and blessing Maggie
You're all so sweet and kind to help me think of names, and actually care that i'm yet another lady having yet another baby, hehe. We won't be doing a homebirth, though that sounds really nice. We live almost an hour from the hospital, i haven't been able to find a midwife, etc. My last two births were not exactly complicated, but highly medicalized (the first one, not by my choice, and the second one, out of fear from the first), and unpleasant, which has probably taken away any confidence i would have had by the third one, lol. I have a different OB this time around at least, and though he's pretty "old-school" he seems like the kind of guy to know when a woman would just as soon rip his eyes out than listen to his advice, hehe.
I've asked around on a couple of name forums I vist, and here are their suggestions (in no particular order).... Scarlett Blossom Clover Lilac Iris Camellia Aspen Violet Saffron Star Ember Lily Acacia Bluebell Poppy Dahlia Ruby Meadow Liberty Skye Skye Astrid Brooke Moriah Ivy Star Brooke(maybe a bit much with Ryver?) Lily Halle (for Halloween?) Aspen Starr Sienna Jade Montana Skye Savannah Blu Paisley Grace Amber Dawn Autumn Rose Georgia Pearl Ivy Juniper Iris Acacia Laurel Juniper Phoenix Aurora (means dawn) Pearl Ember Misty Skye Amethyst Amaryllis Aspen Cheyenne Sierra Sedona Sapphire Savannah Stormy Jasmine Jade Opal (October's birthstone) Topaz (if she's late--November's birthstone is golden topaz) Blue Coral Briar Luna (means moon in Spanish) Oceana Terra/Tierra (earth)
Congratulations on your baby girl!! I'm so sorry your past births have made you fearful. I'm hoping this baby is the one that will renew your faith in your body. I love the names of your kids! Can't wait to hear what you decide on for this one! I wanted more alternative names for my kids but my dh was not going for it. And now when I tell my 8 yo some names I wanted for him, he wrinkles up his nose and thanks his dad for standing strong
the name i love the most and have since i was about 5 is zion...my puppy is named zion because i wanted to use it so bad...lol
Congratualations. I hope things go better for you this time around. I BEGGED my DH to name our last girl Nico, but he would have no part of it. He said it was too masculine. I LOVE it for a little girl. We ended up with a Bella instead (I was under the influence of morphine when I agreed to it ).....it's growing on me.....
Congrats... girls rock! I had a friend that was overweight both times she got pregnant and 1st time her weight stayed the same. The 2nd time she lost a bit. She grew properly and the baby was healthy... it was like you said, she was just metabolizing differently. Her face, arms, legs, thinned out but her lil' basketball belly grew and grew Good luck on picking a name..
