My cat is infested with fleas right now. I have to get him medicine and bug bomb the house.

I know fleas don't get in people's hair like lice does, but because I have dreads, can they get stuck in there? Should I worry about catching fleas? :&

I know how you feel. I am very cautious when handling animals and not let them get close to me head. I guess you could always use flea shampoo...

wash them with some vinegar or a tea tree solution to be on the safe side. i remember my sister came back from cali with a few fleas in her hair and we had to totally clear the house from them. good luck!

I remember taking in two kittens who were 100% infested with fleas. The solution was to run water in the sink and hold them completely under the water (minus their face obviously). You should have seen how fast those fleas came running out from the fur trying to catch air... Just a thought.

My cats have gotten fleas before, and I don't think there's any in my dreads. o_o

    I wouldn't worry about it.

water doesn't kill fleas. They may jump for air but it doesn't kill them or thier eggs.

I will wash my hair with the tea tree oil solution just to be safe! ;)
