Why does society have stupid "rules"

Such as women having to wear bras, men not being able to shave armpits, special ways to eat at the table, etc. Whats the point of these things?

 

i didnt know those were rules...
women wear bras because sometimes its uncomfortable if you dont, and some women dont want their boobs flappin all around..
as for armpit hair, my brother shaves his all the time.. as for eating at a table, dont own one so i eat sitting on my couch..

 

ok maybe they arent real rules, but theyre stupid just the same.

 

Even if they were rules, aren't rules meant to be broken?

 

i always found it stupid in school to ask to use the restroom.. and sometimes they say no.. that is what I found ridiculous...

They are just cultural norms developed by years of customs. I gladly ignore them.

Yes! I only had one teacher with a good policy about going to the bathroom: you don't have to ask permission, try to keep it quick, and only one person at a time. Other teachers have complained that having people in and out of the classroom would be too disrupting..."No, actually me arguing with you about this is much more disrupting."

 

I remember one time in day care i almost dehydrated cuz i wasnt allowed to go inside and get a drink of water. the teacherlady said "swallow your spit". If i wasnt 8 years old, i would have said something like, "there is no spit, thats why i need water, dumb bitch:"

 

the bathroom thing is kinda necessary me thinks...
anyways most of these rules developed out of years of customs and some (not sure if any mentioned were) out of religion

 

I hated when they wouldn't let you go especially if you were on your period..it was like, screw you, im bleedin here, i gotta go pronto!

 

i dont think so.. I think it was stupid that they would tell you no that you couldnt go to the bathroom... its not good to hold in your stuff...

 

Just wear a diaper...Stink up the joint a couple of times and they'll learn...

Society has unwritten rules because humans are social animals. We need to know which ones are the crazies so we can avoid them....

I don't think they're bad or they would cut them off at birth.

I think there are several reasons people should cover up in public. Do you really want to see 80 year old floppy dinks and boobs all over the place? Because not just the beautiful people would be struttin' it....

It would be a pervert's utopia....showing little girls their wankers without fear of punishment.

At least if you bump into someone there is some clothing in the way. I don't want pervs rubbing up against me, thanks anyway.....

 

i never got the rule in gym class - 2 cups of 1oz of water after gym class is done and you couldn't bring your own water.

yea, thats really gonna help me be hydrate...fuckign idiots.
