Are you doing anything special? Last night I made a huge dinner for my family. Keeping it pretty simple, as I have so much going on right now. Today we are making goddess figures out of green salt dough My oldest dd says she wants to make a sun god. It is so hot in southern Texas right now, and so humid. If it isn't too bad outside we may go for a late night hike. So anything special you do on this day?
Watching the sun make it's slow passage. No bon-fires. Maybe i'll meet up with some friends to give thanks.
Has anyone seen the moon tonight? Its full and really beautiful, shining bright yellow with a large halo outstretched around it. Im not doing anything special for the solstice but i'm going to spend some time outside enjoying the 'honey moon' when I can get a better vantage point.
Lol, had sex under that huge full moon on the top level of the Parking Deck near my dorm... "all acts of love and pleasure are my ritual," Damn I love being pagan!!!
Moon here was double sized and blood red, a bad moon. Troubled me a bit since I was out running errands until 10pm. Seemed like it was EVERYWHERE! As for Litha, our tuath will be celebrating with a 4 day camp at Henlopen State Park on the Deleware shore. Me, Celtgrrl, tent, large hammock, Mists of Avalon, a little sticky smoking material and a lot of wet drinking material. Oh and 30+ other Celts whom I will probably ignore since I recently gave up cigarettes after 27+ years and am generally an antisocial bastard for the moment...
Had a little private celebration with a small ritual with a couple of close pagan friends, then went and joined the rest of the local pagans for what is considered the traditional way of celebrating the solstice here in Worksop. We went down the pub and got very very drunk
That sounds like one hell of a way to celebrate Litha Zoomie, I would love to attend a gathering like that, unfortunately there are very few like minded Pagans in my area. Good luck with the cigarettes by the way, I was stupid enough to start when I was 8 years old so by the time I was actually old enough to buy them myself I was trying to quit, and its a bitch.
OK, so we forgot to take"Mists of Avalon" so I read some Terry Pratchett (and not very good Terry Pratchett) and drank about 42 Coronas with fresh lime, a bottle of Bully Hill, cooked and served Jamaican Jerk with fried plantains and peas and rice, had some steamed Chesapeake Blue Crab, (I am a major field gourmet) went skinnydipping with several others at midnight, had sex in the tent in midafternoon and in the showers late one night. Got a very minor sunburn on my forehead and shoulders. And still spent most of the weekend in my hammock. No bloodletting, though it was close. Warlord's woman is a snotty little snob, going to be trouble there soon. All in all, a GREAT Soltice. Next up is Lughansa at Pennsic War XXXIV. Anyone else attending?
Because I used to be a vegan, back before it was fashionable, before there were products available... you know, back when veganism put people in the hospital because most of us didn't know what we were doing. And perhaps one day, since all that has changed, I will be again.
