ok, so I backcombed in my ex's dreads for Christmas. He asked me to get a kit with wax. I warned him, but he didn't listen. So here we are almost 7 months later and I have dreads (a month and a half!) that are wax free. They looked a lot better than his. So yesterday after we smoked (he's my ex but we're best buds and roommates still) he cut them off! I was shocked! He wants to do them right, but now he's got super short hair and starting to get jealous. He sat and pouted last night while i was palm rolling a few. Any suggestions to make him feel better? Also, I have this one bothersome dread. It is right on top of my head towards the front and it sticks straight up. It's shorter than the rest also. It doesn't lay down naturally on either side of my head. It just droops over so it look like I have a soft, hairy penis growing out of my head! AH! Should I comb it into another or just leave it?
I've got the same thing going on with the sticky uppy dread. You could loosely tie it to another dread underneath it so it gets trained to lie down, but make sure it doesn't get attached to the other one. And as to the ex dilemma, it's his problem that he cut his hair off so short. But maybe I'm just an insensitive bitch. >_>
I think the random dread sticking up is a part of their charm. I'd leave it - I'm sure you look cute.
haha, it makes me look like a Dr. Suess character. and Erik isn't that pissy, he's just disappointed and I feel bad for him.
Yeah I used to have a dread that was always doing his own thing. So I gave him his own name to make him feel independent. Usually soul rebel, or just plain rebel dread. He always made me smile when I would look in the mirror. Eventually when my roots grew out more, he layed down. Those damn rebellious teenage years
I think you should just leave the Dr. Suess dread. And just remind him how long it takes to get dreads, and remind him of the benefits of waiting and doing em right!
