besides a rabis shot, do cats really need to get shots for other things? I'm not really pro- immunization for people, much less animals. I know a rabis shot is important, but the other things that they do, is it really neccessary?
distemper, bordatella...those are the main ones besides rabies (at least for dogs, I'm allergic to cats)...those are all kinda important too...beyond that I'm not too sure
I have gotten my cat and dog all of their shots...I'm a scaredy-cat (no pun intended!!), I guess, but I've seen some sick animals from diseases that they wouldn't have gotten if they had been immunized. Of course, there is the flip side of the issue...the affects of the shots themselves. You might want to do some research, talk to a vet, etc. so you can make an informed decision either way.
i think there is a vaccine that cats need to get to keep them from getting something called fiv. i cant remember if thats exacty what its called but i know there is a major cat disease and if your cat goes outside and interacts with other cats it need to get the shots for it. i rescued a few cats about a year ago and they had to get the shots. i ended up having to give the cats away becase they were tearing up my apartment and peeing everywhere while i wasn't home - i think they needed to be able to go outside. i still miss irving and robin.
