just wondering if anyone knows weather or not dogs could smell a few stray seeds in a car.A friend of mine got busted, last night..the dog never alerted..after claiming he did,the cop pulled 2 seeds in an evidence bag from his pocket, laughed & said "you got problems now" then searched his ride.He had nothing, but they busted him for 2 seeds.I'm thinkin if the dog couldnt smell it it'll gethrown out of court.Especially considering planting evidence would look bad on the local pig dept.

I don't think dogs are trained to specifically smell seeds, but because they smell like pot I would bet they are detectable.

Where does your friend live? I know PA has strict laws. I live in NY near the PA line and it's funny how on one side you get a ticket, the other you get jail time.

If this is your friends first offence, and it's only 2 seeds it may get thrown out of court anyway.

Yeah... bust the recreational after-work/wake and bake/weekend smokers while commercial heroin dealers run wild and people will kill for another shot.

well, this went down in missouri(I just moved here). It's just a ticket here, but dude's a teacher,so he cant have anything like that on his record.the part that blows my mind more than anything tho,is that the lttle hick fuckin cop PLANTED fucking evidence & did an ILLEGAL search, and actually thinks he'll get away with it..not to mention they fractured bones in dudes wrist.they even screamed in his face & theatened him with the tazer just for asking for a drink of water!a report was filed with the captain to start an internal affairs investigation,& an ACLU lawyer will be involved, but it's just fucked up,ya know..Goddam cops piss me the fuck off..they even stole money out of is car & refused to give him legit prescriptions back.

I wouldn't be suprised if he gets a nice little cash settlement out of this. A friend of my dads was tazered without a good cause, and he has a MASSIVE lawsuit which he is most likely going to win. Broken wrist from the cops, alot of controversy going on about over-usage of tazers, stealing.... Suggest to him he files civilly as well?

Yeah, cops that do that are on the same level as criminals in my opinion. Is your dads friend black?

The basic answer is yes, dogs can smell seeds. My brother got busted that way, but alot larger number of seeds. 2 seeds is bogus, a good lawyer should be able to get him out of that.
