I have a job, and I just got "coded hours" I was an "on-call". Being an oncall I can get pretty much 40 hours a week, but most likely in different areas all the time (all on the same campus). With coded hours, I have my own area, BUT I only get 25 hours a week. Thats almost half the money. I started taking a class a week ago too. Right now this is working, I get off work early enough to get up for school in the morning. My problem is, I dont like making less money. Also, I have to have an average of 64 hours every pay period (two weeks) to keep FREE health insurrance.

So, my question is, should I keep the 25 hour a week posistion with less money so i can sleep more and have more free time? OR should i go back to being an oncall so i can get more hours and money, but not get as much sleep.

Almost everyone I've talked to has said they'd rather loose sleep than money. What would you guys do?

It depands on how bad you are in need for money and how much the lack of sleep is affecting your studies.

Talk to your employer. Many times they will work your schedule to fit your schooling.Possibly giving you the coded hours and putting you on call part time. You'll be suprised how coopertive many employers will be when you're trying to better yourself. Also remember everything in life is only temporaryThe only thing you'll truly own is yourself and your knowledge.

It's true, my friend, and unless you have some major health issues that you need that insurance, then I would say take some time to chill. An education is terribly important. So is spending time with loved ones, and time alone. You need a job to live, but what is living if all you do is work?
