Well then all the ladies that answered that a guy who doesn't have a job is a turn off are hypocrite wannabe hippies. ...Waits for the bombardment of "I don't have to be a hippie to be on a hippie forum" arguements. :sunglasse
ok, I lied, I couldn't stay away not with this stereotypical comment! I enjoy working for everything I have. I am not materialistic, or have the drive to make more and more money. But I don't like sitting on my ass having someone else take care of me. That doesn't have anything to do with what label other people put on me. you do need money to survive and pay your bills. If someone that I was interested in didn't work, I consider it being irresponsible if they had no good reason. You can be a "hippie" and still work to support yourself. there's nothing wrong with that.
RE: Look pal I didn't name one specific race or gender that was biggoted towards me. But you've no problem taking THEIR money because others are like that, then? A parasite is a parasite no matter what. If you had a broken neck or were missing limbs I'd get it, but "I don't feel like cutting my hair, can't stand being told what to do and besides I'm a victim of racism" is patent bullshit. RE: it was all kinds of people that were. you ain't on meds or ever been through what i've been through so shut the fuck up cuntface. First of all, watch your mouth when you talk to me, do you understand? And second of all, you've no clue what or who I am, what I'm on or not on, do you understand? I stand on my own two feet, I got a job, I pay my bills, I support a wife and two kids and I get it done. I do not sit around expecting the world to owe me a living because I'm an antisocial prick who feels like he's entitled to something. You asked if it's important for a guy to have a job. Of course it is. It shows that he's a rational, mature adult. Doesn't matter what that job is, traditional, nontraditional whatever. So long as he's making it work that's what counts. But all you've banged on about is how you don't like being told what to do and yeah cause someone has a problem with your skin color and sexual orientation or whatever, you're owed a living. Grow a spine, grow a pair and until then you do not speak to me with disrespect, because you have not EARNED that privilege.
can someone earn the privilege to talk to you disrespectfully? haha, sorry I'm just being a smart ass to lighten the mood. don't bite me!
RE: the disibility would be bi-polar you ignorant hick! Each member of my family has that. One's a successful salesperson, my father has a Ph.D in physics and is considered one of five top experts in his field, and I'm quite successful at what I do. It's called dragging your ass out of bed regardless of how you feel, not making excuses etc. Though I had a college diploma and a university degree, I ended up having to drag boxes in a warehouse under the table for min wage for a while. There are thousands of people working below min wage, working two jobs, working injured, working hurt, keeping going, because if you won't noone else will. I know a bipolar guy with a heroin addiction and decades of jail time behind him who found work and though it ain't the best and it takes him an hour each way on the bus he wants to stand on his own two feet. THAT gets my respect. WHINING does not.
RE: can someone earn the privilege to talk to you disrespectfully? Absolutely. You pay your own bills, live your life your own way, stand on your own two feet and stand behind what you say no matter what the consequences, even if I disagree with you I'll stand with you.
The other point is, if not having a job was TRULY about his mental problems (depression is as easily cured with placebos as medication) then this crap about racism and haircuts and shaving and the like would be moot. It would be "I'm too sick to work" and frankly, if that's the case you shouldn't be in a relationship either if you're that mentally challenged. Nobody can stay in a relationship with that kind of up and down trip, I've seen it grind people up and spit them out.
Growing up in Canada I met a guy who was "too sick to work" because he "found work too stressful". So he was on disability living off the gov't. Of course, he was organising Doctor Who conventions, staying up til 3 am working on complex compositions on the organ, travelling between towns for sci-fi trips. But a job? Enh, no, my heart! My heart!
well, i'm working at becoming a musician. that's the job i want. i just have to get off my feet movin so i jam out everyday.
and wynterfrost i'm sorry if this whole thing turned into a mess. my worldview is we just all have to prefer a way of living and dying. my choice is be a famous musician or die trying.
