City dirt and Country dirt are different. Like fields and mountains are different. Sandy trails or trails thru the woods. Even after a rain shower you'll notice the differences. BUT you'll only appreciate these differences when you're barefoot. I love to feel it all. Archie

Yep,I wash my feet everyday in the shower. What I was saying though,is that my hands get washed constantly, all throughout the day. As soon as my hands get dirty, they get washed. But my feet can get dirty and I don't wash them immediately,I just wait to wash them in the shower. There's just something that irks me about dirty hands, but not my feet.

I think for me it's because I don't touch my face or eat with my feet. So it doesn't matter if they are dirty. They only touch the ground until I get home.

ha, mine have been off since I stepped outside of the building at work! :)

Tell you what though, there's no WAY i'd be able to wear anything on my feet in this weather. It's absolutely boiling. I'd sweat like buggery in anything.

I walk barefoot anywhere. I was walking barefoot in an urban neighborhood ( houses close togethor, many cars parked in the street). I had to go through the street because a car was blocking the driveway which the sidewalk runs through and walked right through oil which was on the ground. By the time I got home the oil came off from walking. But hey I get that stuff all on my hands when I change a cars oil so whats the difference.

City dirt and country dirt... well... here's the thing:

Granted, we all would like to go barefoot all of the time.. otherwise you probably wouldn't be reading this thread.

However, most people in the cities wear shoes. Why? Because it's really dirty; there's polution, there's homeless, there's thousands of people - spitting, vomiting, urinating (least of the worries)... Believe me, you're not a "weak" barefooter should you choose to bite the bullet in a city.

Besides, bare feet belong to nature... it's much nicer, and in my opinion, more rewarding in the country. Most barefooters, other than those with some kind of sexual fetish, do what they do because of the feeling of freedom. Quite frankly, the country side is far more condusive to this.

Granted, myself included, city dwellers often feel the need to "bare it"... Shit... a long Boston winter will take it's toll.. But the most rewarding feeling is when I get to a place that is rural and undeveloped. That's the place to really feel free with bare feet... and usually to find others with the same mind set.
