Quick question

    Is there anyway to stop the windows automatic update manager from coming up? thanks

    I don't think you understand my question...whenever I start up my system, within 10 minutes the icon for windows update pops up in the tray. I don't want this happening because my copy of windows is less than legit. I'm assuming that doing the update would be really bad, so I'd rather not have it keep coming up.

    Oh ok...I don't have any clue how to do that though...?

    msconfig

    startup

    stop everything you don't recognize

    services

    anything you KNOW you don't use get rid of


    your computer will run faster and you won't have to worry about it......

    windows update manager should be set to stop updating automatically ....
