It is a joke, and it is funny because it is this guys own fault. If he had voted against the decision it would have been 5-4 in his favor and his house wouldn't have been taken! Period. This is a classic case of Karma. The United States isn't some socialist country where the government owns all the private property, and anyone who thinks it is or is in favor for that, in my opinion, doesn't stand for what this country stands for.

    Peace and Love,
    Dan

Yeah, I'm split. On one hand, I want that asshole to suffer and have his house taken for screwing the American people out of their right to their property, but on the other hand, I don't think anyone should have their house taken, because that's just not right.

I have looked up the town of Weare, NH website and have found the e-mail adresses for the Board of Selectmen. I plan on writing each selectman and letting them know I will stay at the Lost Liberty Hotel if it is built there.

    Laura Buono - lbuono@weare.nh.gov

    Leon Methot - lmethot@weare.nh.gov

    Heleen Kurk - hkurk@weare.nh.gov

    Joesph Fiala - jfiala@weare.nh.gov

    Donna Osborne - dosborne@weare.nh.gov

People are always complaining about the goverment taking away our freedom and now we can actually do something about it. Lets not let this opportunity slip away.

I think there's a petition going already like that, saying they'd stay.

Don't know where it is though, my mom was looking at it.

true, it does have a bit of justice to it.

Still, i bet it never happens; you know this guy's got influence, so they'd never vote to do it, even though it clearly would make the community more money.

I'd like to write them and tell them that if they go through with this their names will be in the history books on behalf of the American people. Think I'll go do that. :) Oh the irony.

If Justice Souter rented a room at the "Lost Liberty Hotel" would he be given a discount rate, since he used to own the land the Hotel occupies? If not, at least a free Continental Breakfast...
