I just wanted to understand your sig, is all. I understand Screw, and I think I get drank, but the sweets thing was weird. You kids these days with your slang.
I think its horrible how these governmaent fat cats are destroying are freedom one amendment at a time, and people like Listen to screw need to understand that patriatism is one main causes for wars and violence in the world. People shouldn't idolize any flags and i hope everyone does their best to keep this amendment from passing.

when you say "What the hell does that mean" im gettin the impression youre tryin to start some shit. any other person tryin to figure it out would just ask me normally
They always come out with this bill, every year around Flag Day (june 14) or Independance Day. It never passes. It's not a distraction from Downingstreet or anything, it's just stupid rightist patriotism.
Personally, I do not believe in revering any flag or in burning it. I believe that, as a global citizen who does not identify myself nationalistically with any nation, it would be isolation of the United States from the world just as much to burn the flag as it would be to worship it. However, I think that people should be allowed to burn it just as they should be allowed to wave it, and therefore am concerned that that bill has passed the house. Especially because of what the bill stands for...
Well such a law generally prohibits the desecration of the flag, which not only includes burning it, but ripping it, spray painting something over it, and what have you.
I tell ya - the onlt time i think id burn a flag is when they make it illeagal to do so. I've got a bad feeling about this bill too, I think it might pass. actually, im pretty sure it will. What y'all think our odds are?
There might be an all-day vigil on the 4th by a few of the Congressman. They did it many years ago. It's more of an emotional thing than anything else. .
This issue is kinda funny for me. My instinct is to say "the idea just sucks!" because I am opposed to the war and where America is headed. On further thought it makes me think that the Constitution and everything is a joke, if we have a Congress even thinking about such an amendment. The idea of letting an opponent say what he wants so that our freedoms will be protected as well is a cornerstone of democracy and the highest point of evolutionary development, showing that humans can cooperate for mutual gain and to promote happiness. It's a step forward from Darwinism and social chaos. On the other hand, if you want to burn the American flag, what are you doing in America? It is sacred to many people. You don't have to believe it's sacred to understand that it is for others. For example, I don't believe in God but I will not burn a Bible in front of Christians or out in public. So, my thought is that it's a stupid idea. In theory people should have the right to burn the flag. It would be, after all, consistent with the notion that all should have freedom of speech within certain limits. But those who burn the flag are most likely to be idiots who can use their time more productively anyway. The politicians supporting this amendment are idiots too.
That's right, you don't fall in line you're just UN-AMERICAN. now, go smoke another joint in front of the police station. ah, carry on with thread just had to get that out.
ILoveMyGuitar has it right! The law makes ANY desecration of the flag illeagel( Idon't mean a sick bird). So if the law is passed LOOK OUT YOU TIGHTIE WHITIES I'm comin' after all of you fuckers with a tattered, faded and wet flag waving from the window of your car. I personally hope the fine is HUGE and includes prison time! Careful what you ask for, you may get it!
