Omg I am freaking out! I have been dying my hair for years. My hair is thin, but I have alot of it. I was a redhead for a few years and decided I didnt want to dye it anymore cuz of the damage it was doing to my hair. I decided to dye it brown and let my natural color come in. I lifted the color (bleached) about a month ago and dyed it dark blonde...but it looked totally weird so i dyed it darker. Its been a month and my hair is thinning right above my temples....and in the front. I am a woman and balding doesnt run in my family and im only 23! I was thinking I burned some of my really fine hair....or it fell out cuz of all the chemicals....also I have a new job and have to wear a visor that rests on those areas so maybe its all those things together....has anyone had this problem??? Im so scared.....if the bleach did cause this, or the hat even...will it get better???

Yes excessively dying (bleaching) your hair can make it fall out. But it will grow back.

Wearing a hat constantly can also make you go bald.

that is a myth...... there is no truth in that at all. all your head needs is about 6 hours of breathing time for your hair a day. unless you wear your hat constantly, and wear it to bed, your hair will fall out...... other than that, no.

going bald makes people wear a hat more. not the other way around

constant dying and bleaching will damage your hair and it will fall out.

No I didn't mean 24 hours a day. I know people who have worn a hat all day (except night time) and it has done damage. Maybe then they are rare cases? I don't know I haven't looked into it and have never been a 'hat' person. I have dyed my hair for about 20 years now and guess I am lucky it hasn't started to fall out yet. I guess there's time.

store bought dyes.... yes, I've heard that regular use of them can cause hair thinning and damage. Apparently salon-dyes aren't nearly as bad... just let it grow out and use some really good conditioners on it, don't blowdry it any more than absolutely necessary, give it a few months to start getting healthy again.
