Has anyone seen this. I saw on the shelf in the movie store. The briefing on the back basically said that Michael Moore is full of shit (which I don't believe for a second) and that they had evidence that he was wrong. Well, I didn't want to give my money to propagandists, but then I thought "hey, may as well listen to what they have to say, if only for a few laughs." I went back to get it and it was no longer there. So, did anyone happen to take a peak? I'm wondering if it's as stupid as it looks, or if they actually have any legitmate points (if the Bush admin. has anything to do with it, I imagine it doesn't). I realize Michael Moore is biased, and he exagerates, but it's easy enough to tell when he's doing it, and I've heard several other sources making the same claims he does.
from what i hear an alternate title could have been "blame it on bill"...but micheals film is straight propaghanda...im pretty sure it was partially backed [financially] but the Democrats...
What an ugly word to use for such a brilliant film. Michael Moore is biased. But that doesn't mean it's not true. Is there any real point in that film that anyone can dispute? As far as being backed by the democrats.....I don't think so. I don't know, but really, the US gov. is one in the same. As I've said before, the elections are pretty much just a dead act, symbolic of a time when the US was actually a democracy. Not that Canada is much better. Better, but not much better........
it is a stupid as it looks. Moore gave that movie little substance except tryign to make bush look liek a wreck. not that i didn't enjoy that bias....i just dont think its the greatest flick to put on the market and title it a proper documentary. ... god my dog just drank out of the toilet,.
like what i eman is that most of the movie is specualtion....lots of the "conclusions" he comes to are based off a blacked out name on his National Guard record...
I have never seen Fahrenhype 911 but, from what I've heard it is a film that tries to discredit Michael Moore's film.
on the topic of one documentary provoking an "anti-mentary" [im so clever ] some woman made one called "Me and Micky D's" in response to "Supersize Me"
Alright, I don't wanna get into a big thing about this, but really, it's true what he says. You can check the facts. The only thing he based on the blacked out name, was his aquaintenceship with someone linked to terrorism funding, or something like that, which is irrelevant. No, I can't get into this again, I'm too hung over. My head hurts from thinking.............
Probably true, but that would only make sense...would it then not be logical to believe that Farenhype 9/11 was more than likely backed by, gee, Republicans?
I think that bowling for columbine was a much better film. I quite like michael moore, but im not the biggest fan, i think that there are probably better film makers out there, highlighting other important issues. There was way too much propoganda in farenheight 9/11 and it didn't offer any alternative either, it was really just a bush slagging match. Anyone know why i can't post in politics btw?
I wondered the same thing once.....apparently only members are allowed to post there. To be a member you have to have posted either 50 or 100 posts first. I understand why they do that, kinda. It's so that they don't have spam in there, or people joining just to spread propaganda. Kinda seems like denying the little guy too though....... Anyway, this thread IS NOT ABOUT FARENHEIT 9/11. It is about... FAREN - HYPE - 911 read my original post carefully........
yeh, it does seem to be denying the little guy a voice a bit. Seems a bit elitist for a hippie board. Suppose it stops trolls.
I haven't seen the film. I would probably find it about as convincing as I find Moore's films (which is to say not very), but it probably isn't as entertaining.
Michael Moore is pure evil, I mean if you think about it, all of the propoganda he's doing he's the one editing the tapes and shit so he must know the truth, he's fucking up the country and because of it he's getting enough money to pay for his huge tab at just about every restaraunt in the coutry
Interesting. You say you don't want to give your money to Propogandists, and yet you DID give your money to Michael Moore...a shameless Propogandist. Faren-hype 911 is definetly worth a look, and a good counter to the propoganda in Fahrenheit 911 which can help you make up your own mind, instead of just soaking up what you want to believe from Mr. Moore...who is by the way...full of shit.
