..it took me 555 pages of Barbara Wood's roman (Dreamtime) to understand that the misterious name meant the.. Ayers Rock!!
How many of you have been there?What was your impression about it and all the peole visiting it?

 

Never been yet..

but we call it Uluru now its original name not Ayers Rock

 

Too far away for me. It is like going overseas.

 

Nope never been near it, don't think l ever will either..

enjoy it mate, its an amazing place from photos and my olds accounts.

 

I'll be going there for the first time next year after the wet season. Its about a 500km return trip off the sturt highway and will be well worth the drive.


Its in the Kata Tjuta National Park and its now $25 per person for a three day pass.

I won't be climbing it but I'm looking forward to walking around it. I'm also looking forward to waking up and seeing it first thing the morning!

Hey August Moon, it is the Sturt Highway that goes through Hay - where I live - and it is the Stuart Highway that goes up through Alice Springs. Many an Australian has had the two names mixed up.
