Has anyone tried this soil? forgive the ad tiedye We asked and you told us! You wanted a complete, ready to use potting soil that was free of weed- seeds and pests. You also asked for an outdoor potting soil that's formulated to "jump start" new roots and continue feeding for months. We listened to you and created all natural PATIO PLUS with organic nutrients. Why organic nutrients? Outdoor conditions can be harsh on newly planted plants and flowers. Regular indoor- outdoor potting soils use chemical fertilizers that can wash out of the soil with every watering. PATIO PLUS is formulated with all natural organics- composted chicken manure, bat guano, kelp meal and worm castings. The difference? Organics stimulate fast rooting then stay in the soil, releasing nutrients for months. Ideal for: Flowers Vegetables Herbs Bulbs Flowering Shrubs Citrus in Pots Ornamentals in Pots Container Gardens Raised Planter Beds Window Boxes
I been eating dirt since i was a child- do you mean to tell me kellogg's makes cereal? Naaa -different company bro these people invented soil amending with humus, some 75-80 years ago. Or so they claim.
Yeah im looking for simple out of container premixed organics. I took the day off today to fix my wormbeds up, and recondition some soil. The cats were shitting in the containers- i lost 20 gallons of soil to catshit. Problem is cat-scat carries a organism that can lead to retarded kids in pregnant women. All that soil got tossed. I use the foxfarm for two cycles, then compost it with marine cusine. but ocean forest drains too fast, and im going to switch from organic based- to total organic.. but i need some potting soil to get me through the next few months- Im not going to start getting ammendments or anything , because there is no-place to put it.I gotta get a shed first, this summer i hope. But anyways, i found someone on overgrow who says the patio plus has a bit too much peat for his taste< i bought a few bags of "power flower" and it is too dense with humus, although it's merits as a 3 month soil are worthy of loosening it up. My plants growing in it now are extremely lush with vegitation. so maybe the two of them with some perlite would work for me, But the same dude that tried patio plus , has tried dr. earth and says it drains better. I think ff O/F drains a little bit too fast. Good reason to mix our own , Is the inconsitency of different products and only we know what works for us ,but i dont have space for ammendments. If i was outdoor id use oak compost and horse/cow/chicken manure in deep ass layers. but im not. Im looking for a perfect(or close to) soil that might be found at any hardware store nursery, Im tired of the long drives to modesto- want to get soil in sonora. My main reason for the current research is to avoid long drives every two months for soil. If i can find HEY wait a minute. There is a nursery in columbia, remember the old german woman i called to cure my rootrot- she said pour whisky on the infection, and i did after i floated it into the new medium. The plant recovered fine. but columbia is only 10 minutes from sonora- we are there all the time. I might just have to get soil there. But it's still going to help if I brush up on brands that are organic. what can i say im an alien possesed by the grow!
tie'---I hear good things acout "Down-to-Earth" products. I believe I read that they have different blends, specifically tailored for certain areas in CA and the PNW.
Moe: "People treat me like dirt. I'm not dirt, I'm better than dirt. Well not the kind that's loaded with nutrients, I can't compete with that." (the Simpsons)
Im mixing heavy organic soils at the moment- composted manures , horse turkey and worm poop.. Making tea of the same sifted....mostly castings. some day i'll try dr earth and patio plus.
Tie, I SWEAR by Whitney Farms soils. They are made local to me also. I use their general purpous and mix in a wheelbarrow with half a bag of soil then add about a 2 gallon bucket of perlite, 1 gallon bucket of Vermiculite, 2 gallon bucket of Whitney Farms soil ammendment which is shit of all sorts, 2 cups dry bat guanno, 1 teaspoon of Epsom Salts for Mg, 1 teaspoon of prilled dolamite lime for Ph stabilizer, then mix it all in for about 10 minutes. The soil comes out friggin awesome. Drains decent and will keep plants going for about 60 days or so in vegg. I also add a little compost and such on top of the soil for a top dressing. This company also has all the above in organics. I have several friends in grow supply stores and I have been able to try just about everything on the market from soils to bloom boosters. It all comes down to good ole' poop compost and Whitney Farms soil. All that fancey $$$ crap works well enough, but just dosent warrant the cost. As Mean's stated over the years, you get better control when you mix it yourself. All my grows use the above soil. Outdoors included. When mixing for outdoors, I use a little less perlite so I dont have to water as much, but everything else stands. Tie, I would put my balls on the clothesline with this soil if thats what it took for you to try it. Peace, Med H
My organic free soil is not a bad thing bro- But I'll try whitney soon_ I am the one who brought the thread up- gotta try it.
I have been getting the patio plus at orchard hardware supply. But it seems I heard that lowe's carries it. If not they carry "dr earth " products im fairly sure. the patio plus is good for the afghani type strains which are used to a sandier medium. Like this g-13 I have. Stinky likes dirt or potting soil........ I started in 1996 with chocolate columbian and afghanistan hashplant. columbianxhashplant was born. his i outcrossed to a hogsbreth S1 in 1999 and where the monoecious troubles began. this I call margerita, and is close to NYCD, but twice as good as any nycdiesel i ever grew.unfortunatly very monoecious. then i used a transgendered male from "margerita" to cross to a cali strain called "humm". An autoflowering humbolt strain.... stinky was born. I have a third generation out. that's what you have. I also call her "wildberry" but stinky and wildberry are just two different names for the same strain. hey can get monsterous outdoor with lots of rich soil to work. they are like fish and seem to grow to their enviroment. It will be interesting to see how they do in a cabinet.
here they are at 2 weeks today.....i am going to switch to 12/12 in another 2 weeks or so, they are just really starting to get sum good growth on em....they are vegging undera 400 watt mh and will be flowered under that and a 250 watt hps, fox farm nutes for flower as well as a lil cha ching ( new product from FF 10-50-10 i beleive)...
