19 U.S soldiers were killed in Somalia, and Hollywood quickly made a movie about it. In the Bloody Bush war in Iraq, 19 American soldiers killed in action for Halliburton Oil is a slow month in Iraq yet NO MOVIE. Think about it. 2 U.S. Pilots Die in Iraq Helicopter Crash June 27, 2005 2:35 PM EDT BAGHDAD, Iraq - A U.S. Apache attack helicopter crashed Monday north of Baghdad, killing both pilots, after a witness said he saw the aircraft hit by a rocket that "destroyed it completely in the air." http://start.earthlink.net/article/int?guid=20050627/42bf79c0_3ca6_1552620050627-1357595906 http://www.robert-fisk.com/iraqwarvictims_mar2003.htm http://icasualties.org/oif/ http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0265086/
Fact: October 3, 1993 Film: 2000 (released 2001) Difference:7 years Quickly eh.. i don't think so... Come on Cyberfly, this is scrapping the bottom of the barrel (even for you).
Scraping the bottom? How so? Do you think the war is adequately covered in the mainstream media? You have to go on the Internet to get the real news.
What does making the movie Black Hawk Down have to do with the mainstream media's coverage of the war in Iraq?
Clearly it had nothing to do with TV coverage, that you are NOW highlighting. I say scrapping the bottom, because it was.. how in the world was a major Hollywood picture going to be made in the space of a day or so.. . I do think our news covers it very well to be honest..you have to stay up prety late and watch News 24 and be prepared to put yourself out to watch documentaries and such..to fully appreciate what is going on. The standard morning/dinner/evening bulletins are shit though, but on the whole yeah it aint bad. The good thing about the net is it has many wildly biased opinions from 'real' people (that is not a bad thing a lot of the time, at least it gets you thinking). E.g the current admission by Donald Rumsfeld about talks with the insurgency, i read and posted about it a week before i heard it on the BBC who were quoting the fox network broadcast (bit ironic as that network has a bad rep'). The down side is you read a lot biased hyperbole rubbish, wich is why i 'do' both. I suppose if you 'get off' on and find the more extreme (imho) points of view, such as why we don't have daily body counts; or that Haliburton is the product of pure evil etc etc . The fact a lot of these issues have been 'sorted' and/or are biased and sometimes a bit pointless, the fact that the internet can keep them 'open' is good (to a certain degree). TV has to close the issue at some point or simply not raise it because it is way to conspiritorial. If the 'answer' is not what you/me/others want you can't say the coverage is bad.
Mat...media covers more than just TV. Movies are included as well as the Internet. http://www.radicalhippie.com/
for a start i think this is probably a rare film that shows the truth about america, the director ridley scott nearly got fined over this because, the american film industry (hollywood) didn't like the way they the prtrayed america and how they made a huge mistake, as its usually focosed on how good they are. Apparently if it were 10years ago he could of been dealing with imprisonment
Bit better explanation would have been nice then, but like i said how in the world was a major Hollywood picture going to be made in the space of a day or so.. . Civilians reported killed by military intervention in IraqMax22774 Min25796 Could you please break down this figure, and tell me how many were killed by 'us' how many died at the hands of suicide bombers, and seperate this figure into actual iraqi suicide bombers and 'foreign' suicide bombers. Oh an 'if we were not there, then none of these civilians would be dead' is not realy a good answer. I can read what it says above the figures..but it completly disregards other 'groups' actions (in other words don't make excuses). Thanks
Did America kill all those people? Yeah. But no. But yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah but no but yeah.... Becuase, if a Syrian suicide bomber blows up a Iraqi Shiite mosque full of worshipers, it was probably a CIA/Zionist/Mossad plot since the resistance are lovable heroes and they didn't do nuffin, so don't go giving them no evils. And even if they did it is America's fault for making them so mad and besides, America tortures people in Guantanamo which is totally unfair so wouldn't you rather talk about that? Plus, if America like didn't invade and Saddam launched Anfal II which killed like a billion people that would be America's fault anyway since one time at Argos I heard someone say that Rumsfeld sold Saddam chemical weapons and besides Anfal 1 never happened everybody knows that was a CIA Zionist Mossad plot and anyway the Kurds deserve it because if they were really patriotic heroes they would be decapitating aid workers like the Sunnis instead of doing dumb things like voting which everybody knows is even more rubbish than Westlife.
