Making a Guitar Strap

    I want to make a strap for my friends acoustic guitar. i was thinking about making it out of tow strap and then embroidering it or something...i want to make it adjustable tho and can't quite figure out how to do this. Anyone have any advice???

    You might check your local fabric store for nylon webbing and the adjustable clips/tabs(like on backpack straps). I think you could make the strap with the adjustable loops, and then sew some leather onto the ends that attach to the guitar.

    you'll need the distance of the knobs to which the strap attaches plus room for the player. i cheated when I made one: I hung out at a guitar shop. I think now the length would be in an Internet description, OR you could PM Orsino2 for a measurement (kid breathes guitar)
    heavy duty vinyl doubled, can work for a non-leather end. buttonhole sticth around the hole for security.

    what a wonderful idea... my brother just learned to play the guitar a year ago, I think he might enjoy something like that... thanks for the inspiration :)

    how could you mack a starp out of the house hold materials like old shirts and things like that.

    first answer is braided, if it is all fabric or very flexible materials aside from fabric.
