OK yeah that's a big name to spell, but this guy is a awesome guitarist and a ok singer as well. I wanna know what you people think of this guy. "The River" off of his newest release is my favorite song he does. What's your?
man I never would have thought that nobody would have ever heard of this dude. Welp to bad I guess I'll have to enjoy this guy's music all to myself.
A guy I know told me about him, burnt me all of his CD's, and even went as far as to call him the greatest guitarist of all time. I wasn't all that impressed, really. Maybe I'll give him another listen, though.
I wouldn't go as far to call him the best, I think he stole most of his licks from Stevie Ray, but for $15 he'll put on the best damn show you'll ever see
Ive seen this guy twice. The First time i did was when he was opening for Peter Frampton. I was lucky for my age ( 16 or 17 at the time ) to acually see him. The thing was that Joe was acually better than Frampton! he blew him out of the water completely. Then again they were are two different types of musicians, but going off their performance alone, Peter Frampton was nothing compared to him. Anyways after seeing him play that performance i looked into him more and found out that he was playing again but just him and his band in some random jive down here in Houston. I i caught that and sat literally 3 feet from where he was playing. It was awsome. He's a very talented musician. For his age and all around. I cant remember what age, i think it was 13, i read that he played with BB King. Thats impressive. Anyways. He hasnt been to Texas lately so if anyone has any word of where and when he'll be playing, please post it up. Everyone see this guy play!
www.jbonamassa.com/joe_bonamassa_tour_information.htm that's a link to this guy's site and his tour dates, I'm seeing him in about 3 weeks! can't wait
I've got all his albums and find them pretty uninspiring and dull, with exceptions of course, Reconsider Baby, If Heartaches Were Nickels, Burning Hell, Blues Deluxe etc. Having said that i saw him in the UK at my local blues club about 6 weeks and he was absolutely superb. I've seen some great guitarists over the years and he would definitely be up there, he put on an incredible guitar show. I'd love to see him live again, but don't care much for his cd's.
I guess I see your point about his studio stuff, but "Had To Cry Today" that cd is his best I listen to that offen. I hope to see him in Cleveland in 3 weeks, I've checked out his dvd and the boy's got them Blues down pat!
sorry this took so long to get back to but JOE BONAMASSA is one of the greatest guitarist ever born! I checked him out in Cleveland and the dude can flat out play guitar! I've never been more impressed. I've seen Clapton, I've seen Allman Brothers, I've seen eddie Van halen.... Joe Bonamassa is better then all of them on guitar! check him out one day forget the studio stuff see him live or buy his new cd that was a live show 2 years back you won't regret it!
