Man created god in his own image.

How dare man say this universe was created solely for him, that we are the reason for all that exists on both a macro scale and micro scale. Anyone who believes so with relentless conviction is both ignorant and very uneducated. To say we are the ultimate justification of universe’s laws and beauty is completely absurd. Anyone who says they can tell you the truth is a fraud and anyone who claims to understand their creator is a fool.

If there is a creator or ultimate architect of the cosmos, than he is NOTHING like you or me. Our brains can barely grasp particle physics or quantum mechanics, we cannot even begin to fathom the logic behind black holes and yet the previously mentioned would be as simple abc’s to the creator.

Our brains and conscience have evolved for the sole purpose of optimal survival on this planet, located in this solar system, in this galaxy, in this cluster, in this super cluster etc. Our eyes can only detect specific frequencies of light, our ear drums can only recognize certain bands of radiation, we can only perceive one of an infinite set of possible “realities”. Asking us to give meaning and purpose to the universe is like trying to teach physics to a dog. It’s impossible; our brains are just not capable of doing so. Forget trying to explain god, we can’t even explain what it is like to be a dog.

So many people find this naturalistic point of view negative. “There is no purpose to my life? “ or “But why are we here then?” blah blah blah. STFU . It is instinctive for us as self-conscious animals to desire absolute truth, but the fact is we do not know everything and probably never will (remember, our sun blows up in less than 10 billion years so if we don’t start traveling at the speed of light ASAP, we’re not going to survive it)

So if no one can tell you the absolute truth than what is the point of anything? Well, lets start with what we DO know. We know that we are members of the family of what we call life. I don’t mean life as in live and die, I mean life as in its most rudimentary sense: DNA. DNA is life's lowest common denominator. It is the one thing that binds all plants and animals together on this planet, we are all decedents of that first string of pre-cellular DNA that had the “urge” to replicate. And that is exactly what all life wants so badly: to survive.

It is through this understanding which we can cultivate compassion and understanding for all of life. And as the only self-aware species on this planet, it is our responsibility to be its caretakers. In fact we are the ONLY species that can be responsible, period. Other animals have no choice, but as homo sapiens we have options and can make decisions. We need to start marking the right choices to harmoniously facilitate all life on this planet, and we need to begin with ourselves. It maybe seem a daunting and even impossible task but all life struggles until the end. Choke any animal at the neck and it will fight to its last breathe regardless of the odds.

Saving humanity is not accomplished through praying, worshipping or giving money to churches. It is accomplished through the control of afflictive emotions such as hate, anger and jealously. We need to eliminate biases and boundaries. We need to understand that there is constant suffering, and this suffering is real. We need to want to end this suffering. We need to educate ourselves and others with FACTS so that we may better understand what we are. We need to do all this and more so that we as humans may learn to be free from our primitive instinctive desires for self survival and extend the empathy we have for ourselves to all of life.

Only when we have reached this can we even BEGIN to assess our role in the universe.

    Peace.
