So who wants to bet Bush and will completely ignore the millions of people demanding the G8 to act against poverty? In the name of freedom, no doubt. I just can't imagine him actually doing something for the people. I'm sure it would conflict with the interests of the administration. We'll see............

As far as I'm concerned, they shouldn't have a choice in the matter at this point. I know there can't be a quick fix, but if millions of people are specifically saying something, it is mandatory in a democracy to listen to them. If they don't listen, we'll know that democracy really is dead.

They didn't listen to millions the world over, let alone the millions in the US alone who opposed our unilateral invasion of Iraq.

"Democracy" to the ruling elites is nothing more than doublespeak for "capitalistic hegemony". The sooner the sheeple wake up and realise that (and its been so for decades at this point) the sooner this exploitative, minority serving system can be smashed and consigned the dustbin of history along with all preceding empires.

All of Europe's cries for more aid ring hollow, given their steadfast refusal to scrap their hefty agricultural subsidies that impoverish African farmers by pricing them out of the global market.
