It varies according to strain, but most outdoor plants will kick into budding in about 4--6 weeks. 6--9 weeks after that--Whoo Hoo!
so we got like 1-2 more months then are plants will bud???.... bcuz im impatiently waiting and wondering and praying...
after the solstice which should be around july 22, the days will begin to get shorter. This is what triggers plants, but a tropical strain like columbian wont begin until the days get to be 11 hours of daylight. This is why some strains dont work in northern climates. In the tropics days stay at around 12 hours of light,12 hours of dark most of the year. In mid winter- the days are around 11 hours of light, 13 hours of dark. Thailand and columbia are like this. The true thai and columbian strains will not bud on 12/12 like most indoor strains. In fact you can grow them to maturity (average 8 or 9 months for true sativa before you bud them is best) in a growroom under 12/12 their whole life, and then turn the lighting to 11/ 13. 11 hour days will trigger them to bud. You have a seattle strain - you should be fine in any climate. tie
The summer soltice--longest day(light) is in late June, NOT late July. This year it was June 21. The days have been getting shorter for weeks. The winter solstice--shortest day(light) is a few days before X-mas. In the southern hemisphere the season are reversed. The equinox's--days and nights of equal length--are in between. On the equator the days and nights are always the same length year-round.
