he's not a dick, his music should be enough to persuade otherwise there...it was coke that did it, never met a guy who wasn't a bastard on coke. that said, when they were actually playing, it was pretty good. but eveything he said was pretty irritating, its a shame to see someone you like act in the worst ways.

I loved Bright Eyes before Glastonbury. I though Connor Oberst was the perfect guy. I looked forward to seeing him all weekend when I was at Glasto, and then when he finally came on stage, I left after 15 minutes.
First of all...I personally think his new electronic album is poor, but either way, his new electronic album LIVE was weak. That was the first disappointing element of the set.
Then he proceeded to talk bollocks about the Make Poverty History Campaign and Chris Martin. At this point, I was so angry, I was actually driven to booing him.
Then, after another load of random bollocks, I left, heartbroken.
I heard from Kat, Ned and John that he carried on being a twat after a left, and a lot more people left. And they did right.
We can all make excuses that he was on coke...but he had been given the MASSIVE priveledge of being asked to HEADLINE the John Peel tent...and not necessarily because he deserved it, but because the wonderful Ryan Adams was ill. He came on nearly half an hour late, off his face, and talked shit. Anyone who can fuck up an oppotunity like that so royally is not the sort of person I want to admire, the way I admired him before.
What a ****.
I am still to angry to listen to his music yet.

 

yeah rosie he did carry on being a twat...he was a real big let down...it was his choice to take drugs - im guessing he wasnt forced ...everybody around us were saying 'what the fuck?!?' over and over...because he was being a fool...and a foolish fool at that...
In between the songs he talked rubbish...intent on insulting, he didnt seem to appreciate the oppourtunity he had been given...
when he actually played they were okay but his set didnt live up to expectations either...
mind you i stlil had a good night...but i may have been drunk....or something else entirely
